Are we talking about the same thing though? This attack kills a SSJ2. Is the Ultra/Super Weaver (used on Kakarotto) stronger than this attack? Or is it at a similar level but meant for a wider spread - for example, to destroy a large Carbonite infested object?

Would Vegeto/Vegerot get killed by this thing if he just let himself get hit by it?
I think I remember Gotenks saying that it’s power wasn’t actually threatening to him, and that Buu could generate attacks that would be much more powerful.

With a group of Buu in ultra armors in power ranger colors in a sentai/power ranger poses.(with Gotenks in the cornern "Dude to much."

I don't think it really has? Bardock (OVA only) is thematically connected to Goku and Frieza, helps build up their conflict. The future timeline got one OVA story but in the manga it's a single chapter that barely bothers to show anything (Gohan gets offscreened VERY fast, Trunks gets entirely offscreen). It's really the bare minimum. After that all you get is a few negligible additions like DB Minus which I'd argue don't count.

I understand if it's a matter of which artists (working for free) choose to work on which universe (in their free time). But it also seems to be a lore-driven deliberate writing choice, which I don't think is really paying off.
Personally I don't care about Polar, Snower or whichever Frieza family members were there 20, 50 or 100 years ago. Or knowing about their gang turf wars and which group of bad guys beat the other on planet X875 or something. I care about Frieza because Frieza has a very strong relationship to our cast and kicks off many interesting parts of the plot. Similarly, when it comes to Bojack, people who watched the movie back then didn't care about that movie because they wanted to speculate on what Bojack and his friends did in their pirate lives, they cared because Gohan went SS2 at the end of the movie after a scolding from daddy and it looked rad.

Yeah, nah. What a story chooses to focus on is an integral part of a narrative, and is 100% a valid target for criticism. I understand I'll probably get deleted for saying so, but it is the truth. Harry Potter would be a worse story with random cutaway chapters of Dudley doing the weekend shopping that had nothing to do with the rest of the story. And thats what Bojack is. He had one moment of plot relevance in this comic 15 years ago, and has had basically no character development in all the specials since. He's been the same personality-devoid jackets since minute one, and I guarantee this special isn't going to change that.

You cant blame people for getting tired of "generic bad guy does generic bad guys stuff and remains a generic bad guy" over and over.

U13 Vegeta just hit Buu Saga SSJ Goku level yesterday. And 18 Vegeta from 20 years ago has the same base power as current U13 vegeta.

If you cannot see U18 Vegeta’s progress is ahead of U13 vegeta for over 20 years. I have no more words

Training hard for over 20 years since the Buu saga, and still defeated by a Buu saga SSJ3 Goku-level version of himself.

Since Goku's base power equaled Vegeta's in the Buu saga, and U18 Vegeta should be able to fight with his legs, if U18 Vegeta is twice as strong as U13 Vegeta, he should be able to win with just two legs. So Vegeta couldn't even double his base power with over 20 years of training.

The most hated aspect of DBM is that they cap normal Saiyans' maximum potential extremely low.

I don't even care who jumps in to save the day now. U13 Vegeta should be able to dodge Pan's Kienzan/Destructo Disc. U18 Vegeta should be able to deliver a kill move to his counterpart while U13 Vegeta is blocking Pan's attack and trying to fight back.

It's just bad writing.

I do wonder what happened with 17 and 18. I guess we don't know what happened between this universe and trunks' timeline.

Maybe in trunks' timeline, Gero was found after attacking that island off of south city and he felt like he had to activate them. In this timeline Goku would have had no trigger to go SSj, so Gero and his energy stealing models were enough. He probably weighed the risks of their disobedience and destroyed them.

Idk if it's sad or sweet that 16 isn't here though. He modeled his revenge-droid after his son but with no need for revenge (since he thought he killed the son family) no need to make an android modeled after his son.

Dabura is Cell level, and he is actually a good bodyguard.

In addition, the third person from the left is Gero's assistant, whom we saw in a previous U7 Cell-Arc Special (on Page 2432). Apparently, she's an android too.

Vegeta is so hardcore and a true saiyan. Of course he wouldn’t take cooler help it would hurt his pride to accept such a offer from frieza family no less. And at this point vegeta evilness should be slowly fading away between the 3 years after namek.
Great art drawing cooler btw I am excited to see his transformation. Maybe we will also get a alternate metal cooler series in the future if cooler somehow survives even if in a badly injured state like frieza.

He did that to confirm the androids don't just drain through physical contact, it's only through the nodes on their palms. Piccolo pointed out exactly that on the third page you posted. They didn't end up using that info since 17 and 18 were being written in, but it's still an important distinction

Give Vegeta some credit, he wasn't showing off, he was taking his time to confirm the Androids drain energy specifically through their hands. If he had to fight both at once, he wouldn't have done such a risky tactic

Sure #17 and 18 fight together, but that was only occasional when they feel the 'rules' of their 'game' were violated.

Gohan is still struggling with the droids This also explains why Gohan didn’t just kill them all when becoming ssj. They were still comparable and far too strong for Gohan to handle by himself. Or rather was it that Gohan has lost stamina rather than them all being stronger ?

I did always find this to be a cool usage of USSJ.

Although realistically, I don't think Trunks's regular SSJ (which he uses for speed) should be fast enough to keep up with SSJ2 Vegeta. Would be cool if he found a way to exchange his base strength for extra speed, like an inverse-USSJ.

Gohan couldn't stand his mom (literally asked if he could live with Bulma post Namek) and barely had any bond with his father (by the age of 16 Goku was absent for over 10 years). Both barely knew or cared for Gohan, Chichi was the definition of a tiger mom who made him study 24/7 without caring what he actually wanted and Goku a deadbeat who viewed Gohan as a mini him and again didn't care about his interests (the only actual time they ever spent together was training)

The true parental figure was Piccolo. In every adaptation this is shown and he is the one that effectively raised Gohan to be who he grew into

That never happened here, Nappa took that role and raised him to be a bloodthirsty killer, empathy and emotions are weak and so on.

Nasu doing a 180 like this makes no sense unless he either says he'll do it faster, plans to steal leadership from Vegeta (so be a true saiyan) or just goes full Omniman and says Earth isn't theirs to conquer
