huh, I do see the telltale SSJ2 electric sparks, but I highly doubt it, since no one in the future timeline achieved it until Trunks in the Goku Black Arc, then again, DBS isn't canon here

They could also very well be the thundering from the Final Flash. As seen in DBZ, Vegeta didn't have SSJ2, however when he was goading Cell into the F.F, there was a lot of thunder and lightning around his Ki ball. Just speculation though, I am not 100% positive.

Nah, those two are a lost cause. I say U12 Trunks should give them what they deserve, oblivion. I'K'L's power seems to treat everything that's frozen as literal ice / glass. The power definitely works differently from Guldo's; they don't really have to explain why. The visual exposition makes those things fairly clear and straightforward.
