It's not the Bra hate that made the event so weird, it was the fact she used basic sense and average level empathy and people in universe acted like it was a huge achievement. What was MOST jarring was Gohan actually called it a "sacrifice" and in the span of like 20 seconds Pan goes from hating Bra to going like "Wow.... She's such a saint. Maybe I was wrong."

This is how I understand Time Travel in Multiverse.

Buu could attempt to time travel through his own timeline but all he could manage would be going to a timeline identical to his.

The ultimate result is that time travel is possible for him but he'd always time travel to a similar timeline as his without the Vargas ever showing since the Vargas visiting are a result of similar travel.

We see this logc in Trunks' and Cell's attempts. They made several timelines but not all of them had the same time travel events. In one timeline Trunks never encountered Cell, they got the remote control schematics, and he returned to the past. Another had Trunks AND Cell show up.

Now you might think that shows that Buu should see the Vargas, right? However, we see that Cell and Trunks didn't have a choice in what timeline they showed up in. Both Trunks and Cell showed up in the same timeline, however, despite the fact that Trunks' time travel initially had no Cell time Traveling.

We know the Vargas have a different form of Travel, however. They can pick any choose any of the infinite, or near infinite, timelines concurrent with theirs. They don't make a change or retcon, per say, but are visiting timelines that have already had those time travel changes.

Summed up, the Vargas' technology allowed to isolate that singular unchanged timeline of Buu's, visit it, and also leave it. This would mean that Buu will never be able to use Time Travel to go to a timeline the Vargas' visited because he's already in said timeline.

Finally we can conclude that out of the infinite, or near infinite, timelines in DBM that there's only these few timelines possible the Vargas visit.

As for why only the Vargas can use it, I dunno. Beats me.

There's also the need to consider that the stronger and more skilled a Dragon Clan Namekian is the stronger their Eternal Dragon is. My man. Love this guy and love this. It's portraying neither Namekian side as wholly wrong or wholly right. It's good to give people second chances, to hope for the best. It's also good to be prepared for the worst and to acknowledge the evils that people can commit. Finding that balance is key.

If the special ended now, I'd say this was my favorite special by far. Let's just hope they stick the ending. Despite the.... poor quality of the art, the story carried it well enough where I don't care at all. It's serviceable and the story is compelling enough for me to be immersed. While it's relatively simple, the fact that Helix didn't become evil and instead took his frustrations with his people towards a more constructive path in creating warriors to defend his planet endears me to these characters a lot. 1 Replie(s)

I really don't think that'd help since he's been brought down to a level where they can feel the pull of gravity, especially since Bujin still seems to be at full power.

You know, as long as this comic has been I find myself really appreciating the story telling. The long form story really benefits Helix's character. The jump from starry eyed wannabe hero to jaded warrior was quick but let us get to the meat of his character more quickly, even if it was a bit jarring. The conflict he faces with being an outcast on his own planet with the family that no longer understands him is pretty compelling. He clearly cares about his people and wants to be accepted but he's been irreversibly changed by the cruelties of the universe and the isolation he feels leads him to physically isolate himself from the rest of the Namekians.

In short, good stuff. I think with this page I've gone from a passing interest to my favorite side story so far. I hope it stay that way.

Considering they're between Super Saiyan 1 and 2 in strength, this just kinda feels like filler slaughter is about to happen. It's either that or Bojack dies and Zangya ends up joining the girls in some way.

Cell easily broke free of Babidi's control, kept the boost, and was much more evil as well as being taken by surprise like Bra was. He also had less of Vegeta in him than Bra has and it's just genes. Not literally the person.

Considering Cell of all people was able to truly resist Babadi's mind control, I'd say a beating is somewhat deserved. Doesn't mean it's a good thing to do though.
