So this threw me off, DB Multiverse, Colored. I assumed it was Colored DB Multiverse, NOW EITHER, I'm looking at it wrong and this is just a different beginning, perhaps it's like others said, the Vargas looking into one of many parallel universes/timelines. Reading this discussion about ki and eyes, I actually have to wonder what is happening here, cause I feel some are trying to read too much into what's going on here, or I'm missing something.

The info I got:

— SSJ3, and every SSJ apparently, is crap cause energy leaks so Vegy says to Goku they should try to Gohan.
— We can assume therefore this "form" is based on Mystic Gohan.
— This "form" is incomplete, cause it shows in their eyes (it's a sign of energy leak they couldn't contain) and, even if it's kinda unfair, cause it's confirmed by Asura.
— Gohan's mystic form can be sensed. By very far actually, which is why Bu waited for him toying with the kids.
— Piccolo said HE couldn't sense them WHILE THEY WERE FOCUSING.
— Gohan said HE noticed that "everything changed" ONCE THEY'RE DONE FOCUSING.

As I see it, I have no reason to believe they can't be sensed right now. Gohan's mystic form doesn't leak ki but can be sensed, the fact they try to avoid ki leaks to mimic Gohan doesn't mean they don't have ki "inside" that can be sensed. Even if for whatever reason this perfected form couldn't be sensed cause 0 leaks, it is NOT perfected and there ARE leaks at this point, even if small ones, so at the very least THAT could be sensed. And afaik Gohan doesn't have any special skills to make him magically realize things, if he noticed such a big difference the moment they ended up their focus, it's cause he SENSED it, and there's only one thing he could've sensed.

Most people missed it for the same reason most couldn't follow Goku vs Cell, Bra missed half of it cause she was daydreaming, probably expecting a low tier battle (for her) with the usual "slow start" (this is WAY more clear in the og french text, where she says "by the time I FOCUSED I missed half of it", I dunno what's wrong with translators it's not that hard...), I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with ki sensing.

But then again, the other option is technically possible I guess? Maybe this form can't be sensed for a reason I don't understand and Gohan said everything changed cause their eyes looked sexy. I would be disappointed though.

Maybe it's just me, maybe it's just Asura's style, but I swear he's been drawing the sides of faces kind of strange for a while now. The rest is incredible and he's probably one of the best artists on the planet, but when comparing to Toriyama, the mouth and chin jut out more than in Toriyama's drawings. With Toriyama they were about the same length as the brow, as in above the nose. Looks like the philtrum is connecting to the middle of the nose on Asura's characters.

The rest is stunningly gorgeous as always.

Agreed with all those saying knowing the result of the right already really spoils this. Even if Vegeta does get up, they already said "half a second before the END of the fight." So we're led to believe Goku wins, and regardless of a possible twist, it still takes away from the fight imo.

This one here reminds me of the comics I used to draw when I was 12 or so: the semblance of a plot, probably stretched out and going nowhere, until the abrupt conclusion for lack of motivation; poor drawing. It would be fine if this wasn't dragon ball multiverse, to this day one of the most captivating fanmade db comics.
I wonder if it's just that difficult to find talented artists committed to the task at hand, I would expect many would like to work on this beautiful project. And yet.... see for yourself. Why are people leaving comments like they're genuinely following and enjoying the story? Are they bots? The drawings are just distracting.

I don't see the problem with adding in some ideas from super. It does not mean DBS is being embraced fully and after all, this is a multiverse. Whos to say DBS isn't one of the many universes? We only get to see 20 out of how many? That's the benefit and problem of multiverse, literally everything can be cannon because in some universe some change somewhere diverted the timeline and more and more changes add up after the initial change until they no longer look anything remotely like the "original" timeline. We know that DBS is not cannon to Universe 18, our DBZ universe, but even at that, there's no problem sprinkling in small background details as long as they don't change the original information we have, and in DBZ there is very little we know about Bardock, Frieza's empire, and Saiyan history. So long as it does not contradict Universe 18 cannon then what's the issue?

As a non-artist it looks very similar to me, as a non artist it looks traced.
That said, as a person who watched YMS' video about the Kimba vs Simba controversy, I can say things may be more complicated than they appear to be on the surface and may require more analysis.

For example, the camera angle is the same and it's the same character being drawn. The door only opens one way. The feet being in the same position could be pure chance, I mean it's 50/50 between which foot is forward first, the other reason could be the hand position. Artistically it may be a decision to have the left hand/right foot forward to simulate the natural walking motion.

There are only a certain number of ways you can draw a certain motion before you draw something exactly like someone else did, and these are only two examples of all the pages drawn between Dragon Ball proper and the fan work.

I'm not an artist and I can't give more in depth reasons than what I've said, but as a lay person this is my understanding.


yes, totally agree! Obviously, as a Dragon Ball fan, there are iconic scenes and images that come to mind when creating a scene, and of course, I used that panel for reference. It's not tracked, but I used it. The one with the Ubb and the kaioken I even remember that Salagir sent me the image and asked me to make it very similar to just refer to iconic scenes XD

Buu absorbed a lot of people who were just smart. He doesn't need to have absorbed someone who had this technique, he just needs to have absorbed someone who could've had this idea. This idea is pretty simple so it could've been just about anyone.

While I do like the art, the actual story is beginning to drag. I understand that it's in character for Buu to do this, but at some point interruptions to the tournament just lead to wasted time. Honestly this probably isn't going to amount to anything similarly to what happened with Babidi. By amounting to nothing I mean that the story will go back to normal without anything major changing. The only thing that happened with Babidi was that he was sent back.
