After the ass pull he did with the last 3 fights, I kind of expected this.
Vegeta vs Cell - one of the most highly anticipated fights, drawn with underwhelming art and disappointing conclusion. Maybe it could've been salvaged if Asura drew the fight.
Buu vs XXI - from the cover art, I expected some sort of insane calculated chess match of two magic users, with bunch of new magic shown and counter spells against them. But instead finished in just a few panels with just a sealing spell zzz.
Gast vs Bra - another highly anticipated fight, which didn't even happen and ended with a forfeit.
So yes, we got the conclusion of goku vs vegeta fight after only 2 pages. I wouldn't be surprised if all future fights aren't any better.

This. The writers are lazily trying to rush the tournament so they can be done with this fanfic, so they cut out 90% of the actual content that people want to see. It's obvious. 1 Resposta/e

Vegeta was shown to be a monster as a child too.
In the original, Vegeta only kept Nappa around because he knew he could use him. He would constantly murder people/creatures/beings for fun and showed zero compassion for anything.
Unless you're talking about the new canon (post new Broly movie), of course. I blatantly ignore that due to how horribly it retcons everything.

It's Goku. He knows how combat works.
True but I don't recall Goku being this knowledgeable about how the nerve system works and how psychology works. Like this is nearly the polar opposite of DBS Goku in terms of intelligence.
They dumbed down Goku significantly in Super. He wasn't ever an idiot, especially when it came to fighting, just a goof. For whatever reason they went with "haha he so dumb" when it came to the new series. 1 Resposta/e
