As the story happens a few days before the "same arc" happened in univers 18 (DBZ), the transporting to Yakon's planet is different. He is at the same place, but Merkit was wandering around here today, and a few days after, was somewhere else (singing karaoke with her friends, some sources tell me).
That's why Gokû and his friends didn't meet her.
