And so, after so many years, the Multiverse Tournament ends. With a whimper.

What an utter disgrace. Salagir went and humiliated the main protagonist of Dragonball, showing little respect to him in this fight or to those who care about the character - the childhood hero of many people, myself included. Worse still, from the buildup and, heck, the chapter cover itself, this seems to be no fluke, but a genuine attempt to troll the readers.

Just to make things perfectly clear: the issue here is NOT that XXI won the match, and thus the tournament. XXI winning could have been a great twist, especially after the foreshadowing suggested that XXI himself was not sure of his victory. Most people would have expected Goku to win somehow, and defying expectations can be a good thing, if done well. Goku trying his best and still failing could have been epic.

But instead, Goku lost like a moron.

Every single opponent of XXI, even Vegetto who confronted him first, knew that they should not give him the chance to cast any spells or use other magic. Heck, even Goku showed awareness of this fact at the start of the match, when he tried to arrange things so he could transform PRIOR to the beginning of the battle. So then, after breaking out of XXI's alternate dimension, why, just WHY in the name of all kaio shins did he simply stand there, monolouging like an idiot??? That was his chance, his ONLY chance in fact to strike back, and he wasted it. According to Vegeta, less than a second is pretty much "an eternity" in this form, so he apparently wasted more than an eternity to brag - and paid for it with his life. His defeat is utterly humiliating.

Call me an entitled reader, if you want. But actually, even if my contribution wasn't huge, I've been part of this fancomic's team for around 15 years now, doing comment mod work and translating pages to Hungarian day after day, week after week. I've tried to remain constructive when Pan was killed, I've tried to voice my concerns in a civil manner when U16 Bra was let off the hook. But this... this is worse than those combined, and it breaks my heart. :( This feels like all my efforts were a waste of time, because Salagir not only made Goku look like an idiot, but deemed it necessary to end the tournament, the main theme of the ENTIRE story, with a random, anticlimactic plot device - because that's what I'k'l's power is. We have no idea how it works, how it could possibly be countered, we have no idea why cyborgs are unaffected by it... it's just conveniently there. So, so incredibly disappointing and disheartening. :(

After all these years, the tournament ends in the most anti-climatic way possible... I love it!

Sooo bullets hardly scratched kid Goku's skin when he was first introduced.....and now Goku black, who is millions or even billions times stronger than start-kid-Goku is bleeding from a shotgun bullet.....sure a shotgun bullet has more impact than the pistol Bulma used at the start of Dragon Ball....and the bullet could even be enhanced to do more damage....but did I mention yet that Goku black is millions or even billions times stonger than start-kid-Goku?

Oh and please don't mention Goku and Krillin getting hurt by bullets in Dragon Ball Super because that's just as odd to me...I cut those clips out of those episodes.

"Revenge" is way too strong of a word here, unless Orzo went out and secretly re-murdered the mom or Tambo is secretly Vegeta-level arrogant. "You won't beat me this time" or suggesting this fight will be different than their last match would be much more fitting.

I do think it's better since I did find it hard to believe that even Mystic Raditz could ever defeat U13 Vegeta. Honestly him beating Vegeta at Super Saiyan 2 would be a bit of a stretch IMO

Raditz is not Gohan, I can see Raditz defeating SSJ2 Gohan in the Cell Games maybe even Majin Vegeta as a stretch but the novel said the Cell Jr. who fought Vegeta was "Stronger than the average Super Saiyan 2" which is SSJ2 Goku Buu Saga level.

So honestly even SSJ2 U13 Vegeta would likely be too much for him.

Maybe he can fuse with Nappa? - Probably not since part of the plan for cleaning up was the need to kill Vegeta AND Nappa.

Unless he's going to get rid of Vegeta here. I don't see who it could be.

It's funny that we're also getting the continuation from Super Hero in the Super manga now. Though so far they've only vaguely stated that Gohan may have surpassed Goku and Vegeta with Beast, and that he can transform at will. Should be interesting to see how the canon explanation compares to this one.

I am betting that in terms of strongest to weakest (among mortals, Whis is obviously on top in U7 and Beerus is probably weaker than or equal to Broly, hard to tell especially when Toriyama keeps buffing Beerus's power up so he stays relevant) among mortals, the top seven still alive (Moro and Gas being dead in U7 would be:

1) Broly (It took SSJB Gogeta to beat him and Broly is stronger/has better control of his power since)
2) Gohan
3) Frieza (Though Frieza could still be stronger than Gohan)
4) Granolah
5) Goku
6) Vegeta (though pretty close to Goku most likely and could overtake Goku if he can "master" Ultra Ego like Goku "mastered" Ultra Instinct since he beat Goku when they both fought in their base form)
7) Piccolo

Yep, he's still cooked unless this Bardock has a higher power level (like 3 million, in which case he doesn't need to transform to beat the first form). But SSJ with even a slightly stronger base power (say 12000) would be enough to beat Frieza in his first form.

Freeza in his first form is within the 500k range. 100k isn't going to make Freeza sweat much. Maybe he can grapple with him like Vegeta did, but that's about it.

In the first picture, they both aiming at each other at the perfect angle, so if we base on my earlier assumption, If Vegeta didn't know where Goku would teleport to, Vegeta would punch the ball towards the audience, but if he knew Goku would teleport at the same direction as he would send the energy ball to, then he wouldn't make the mistake.

I don't think Goku was kicking it farther. He was trying to kick on a curve. Perhaps to where Vegeta was a moment ago. You do have a more range of control of a kick than a punch. You could easily turn the ball if kicked correctly.

This is actually interesting. You know... we could have had this last chapter and replace that 4th wall break re-wind fight.
DBM sometimes be putting too much filler.

I am really not a fan of the name Gohan "blanco" lol. Sounds very cringy to me. Beast is also, IMO, a crapy name.

But so is Orange Piccolo, Golden/Black Frieza and all other unnecessary names. Just call it Piccolo's transcended form, Super Frieza, Unleashed Gohan and be done with it. Describe the form, rather than name it.

This is not a critique to the author of this comic specifically, but more so critique on Super. Like wtf is "ultra ego", do 5 year olds come up with these absurd names?.. Why the fuck would they not just name it "Ultra Destruction"?.. Naaaah, let's make it about ego lol


But still, "Blanco" is the cringiest name of all. So Gohan suddenly started speaking Spanish?.. When in DB world never did we have any indications of multiple languages being used on Earth. Gohan White, while still bad, is a much less cringy name.



Rant aside - the art in this comic is great and I am really interested to see where the story goes. I am loving everything about it so far, besides the Blanco and that the intro was a bit slow and seemed like a rehash of Cell Max fight. But everything else - amazing.

EDIT: To show how stupid naming of the forms has gotten in Super - if Super's naming conventions were used back in Z, SSJ would be "Yellow Goku", SSJ2 would be "Spiky Yellow Goku" and SSJ3 would be "Long Yellow Goku". Final Form Frieza would be "White-Blue Frieza", Perfect Cell would be "Handsome Cell".

Forms should be named after their origin. Super Saiyan was not "Goku with yellow hair". It was a legend, of a legendary saiyan capable of such feats no other saiyan can dream off. And we got exactly that.

SSJ2 told us, that it is an improved version of SSJ, and same goes for SSJ3. It made sense, and probably even people who've never heard of DB could tell you what form is the strongest by their names alone.

Now? it seems more like Sailor Moon forms than DBZ forms, a fucking rainbow or just random descriptive words, like "Saiyan Berserker" which just describes how you'd act in that form. LSSJ was a legend, it made it seem like the form had history, but now it is just "well it looks like he is X, so the form is [Name] X"

I know this is the third time i said this but Ambroise is truly incredible, The fact that you understand when not to have overly detailed drawings for comedic effect shows that you aren't just a very skilled artist but a mastered artist. I hope we get to see from you more after this special ^_^
