Could it be that "50 minutes" actually means that, in that world, decades have passed (hence the foliage growth), while 50 minutes have passed in the "real" (tournament) world?

I'm going to play the devil's advocate here -- not sure if "devil's advocate" is the right term (apologies -- English is not my first language) -- and say that this is great and exactly the right thing to happen. If XXI weren't this powerful / tricky, then taking him out wouldn't be nearly as satisfying.
The story continues, and I, for one, believe that we're in for a treat, and can't wait for what's coming.

Wow, this is really fantastic.
I'm going to hazard a guess that XXI is a sentient "grey goo" | "paper clip maximizer" type of entity. One of artificial nature, perhaps similar to Android #16 created by Dr. Gero. But this XXI is like an ultimate robot | cybernetic organism, like the T1000 from Terminator 2, that can consume materials and energy in order to power itself and grow its physical materials.
I would almost guess that the name XXI is from the serial numbering of Dr. Gero's androids | cyborgs and is therefore one of Dr. Gero's creations, except this would not reconcile with the Old Kai knowing about XXI in his own universe from millions of years ago.

For some reason this form of XXI reminds me of Ikki from Saint Seiya.

I feel like the improvement that Dr. Gero should have made, even upon himself (he was 19, wasn't he?) as a cyborg back in DB/DBZ, was to implement the energy absorption mechanism as an add-on, instead of replacing the "endless power batteries" in 16, 17, and 18.
DB Multiverse page 2427
At the moment it seems to me that Buu's absorption of the other characters were just to protect them against the shockwaves and collateral damage from the clash between Gogeta and Brocoli.

XXI's body tensed, but he remained still, arms outstretched, the black flames wavering. Memories of the millenia of meticulous planning, of his deliberate and strategic conquests, of stifling his urges to obliterate his foes and pawns all in the name of caution, of taming his impatience until it obeyed... all of it, engulfed him like a tidal wave. As he drowned in his past, all of his torment, the agony of constant and unending need for self-control, a torrent of blinding fury erupted from within the deep darknesses that could scant be referred to as his heart. For, here he stands, the God and Emperor of all that had ever been in his universe, the Devourer of Worlds, the One in Whom All Things now rot. And the Vargas, insignificant creatures and mere livestock in so many other universes, had the gall, the nerve, the audacity, to command him?!
XXI's true form exploded forth, its shape beyond the meager confines of the worldly three dimensions. The average onlookers' minds were not made to comprehend the jutting shapes, the grotesquely bent limbs constantly projecting into and retracting away from reality, the ever-shifting colors that changed just as it could be named, the blaring chorus of instruments, of screams, and other unnamable sounds. Each of the spectators' minds automatically interpreted the vision as their own worst nightmares, and shut down all reason and logic, rendering the audience into a senseless writhing, screaming mass.
Piercing through the general mayhem, one coherent voice boomed -- not to be perceived by ordinary hearing apparatuses, but projected directly into the mind. The voice, in a language both arcane and ancient, threatened -- no, vowed -- not only to devour this universe just as he had devoured his own, but all of the multiverse...

Very interesting!!!
If you think about it though... How powerful does XXI's magic need to be to completely contain and control a non-living personification of pure evil, as he has done for such a long time, ever since before the start of the tournament probably?!
Damn.

This is interesting, and quite neat! I've always liked Super Janemba, with his sword slashes sending shockwaves to attack at a distance as well.
However, I feel like this means that Gast will lose this round (though not necessarily to Janemba), because I suspect that XXI must have more up his sleeve(s).
And to those who said Gogeta... remember, getting into Super Saiyan Normal (SSJN, as decided on page 2273) took some time (unless of course Gogeta would be so powerful that he could transform instantly into SSJN), so unless Goku and Vegeta get the time to perform the fusion dance and transform into SSJN in good time, they probably wouldn't do well against Janemba (unless of course Janemba gets distracted).
In any case, for this fight: *GOOO JANEMBA!!!*
I like how funny his face looks (same as in the movie).

That is a cool idea though I think if you have enough level of strength to tear a hole in a dimension that you could be able to break past the Mafuba's containment. Though I could be wrong, Mafuba and being sealed in another dimension are two slightly different things.

You're absolutely right. My subconscious / direct interpretation of that was that it was a lighting effect -- that is, like when you are taking a photo on your phone, if you pan from facing a shaded region to facing the sun, lots of colors and shades change.

Piccolo's right, only 1 chance. In my understanding, this needs to be 1 strong enough blow that shocks Broccoli out of his LSSJ state. THEN they would have a chance of damaging / eliminating him for good.
I would've thought to use some kind of fusion or a Genki Dama that uses all the energies of the people present.
I'm interested to see how they would approach this "weakening" of Broccoli, as the separate beings that they are currently.

Also I don't think Z Buu was stronger then SSJ Vegito I think of it as Buuhan if he absorbed Goku and Vegeta
Hmm... might it have been enough to shock him out of his LSSJ though? I seem to remember reading somewhere that, though invulnerable in LSSJ, if LSSJ Broly receives a big enough shock, he would snap out of LSSJ. And -then- maybe kill him?

Ahh! THAT makes sense now! And the end of the story would be Broly becoming frozen, and then getting picked up by the Vargas to go to the tournament! Much appreciated for clarifying, seeing as I seemed to be the only one who didn't get it. X_D
Now, this must've been discussed/mentioned before, but I can't help thinking that Broly, being basically still a Saiyan, would likely continually suffer in the emptiness of space (similar to the character Quynh in "The Old Guard", who was immortal but sealed in an iron maiden casket and thrown into ocean depths, so that she continuously and repeatedly drowns, comes back to life, only to drown again, for hundreds of years), and only being kept alive by the LSSJ transformation. That suffering must lead to a lot of rage, and as rage is the fuel for his growth, no wonder he's continually growing. That's kind of awesome, in a morbid way.

It's a bit like the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy -- almost everything about the game has received acclaim, although there's a danger that some of the changes to the heart-breaking-and-warming storyline could make the game feel... fun but inconsequential. Me, being the optimist, is still hoping that, as Square Enix said, the finale of the trilogy will be satisfying and tie up all loose ends.

You guys (or probably just Salagir, I dunno) likely have the numbers to tell you how well Dragon Ball Multiverse is doing, and sometimes we don't need to look beyond that.
Personally, as an audience member, I also get turned off by the disputes in the comments section, but on the whole it's still a lot of fun to read. All bringing her back does is open up way too many questions and contradictions that Salagir couldn't possibly answer without assassinating characters, retconing portions of the story, or creating plot holes and contradictions. All of this could have been easily avoided, but somebody wanted to draw Young Baba and so now we have this utter disaster of a sequence. This chapter is a disaster and it really didn't have to be.
This made me laugh out loud. :D Thank you.
I think Salagir actually could have taken the "all hope's lost" path -and- the "the dead not allowed to interfere with the living" stuff -and- kept the Young-Baba-with-naked-feet drawing. Just have her crystal ball be useless for anything other than transportation, because, you know, she exchanged it to keep her body + look younger + have naked feet in the afterlife.
So then, Roshi and Gohan could still visit Young-Baba-with-naked-feet, hoping for a chat with the deceased, and having even that small respite crushed.

2) Gast's suppression
3) I'K'L's biology-based time stop 1 Respuesta(s)

Now we can add three more fatalities to the list. This means that 8 Hera/Jaykals have died in this special alone. So, there are only 19 left, if I've counted correctly. By the way, cool move from Polar. Catching three at once. Just fly through them and the ramming alone kills them.
Yes, with that bowling ball head of his race in the 4th form.
Wow! You guys are sharp! How did you even pick out that that's Bujin?!

One day in a bar I asked a furry for a blowjob, and she ended up biting me, they are as uncivilized and wild as their appearance indicates.
Hector Fenwick was saying: Rape?
I doubt Bojack will correct such behavior from his gang...
BangBang was saying: U1 and U10 as well, most likely. If they've been spreading destruction for several years then at this point the Kaioshins have already taken care of them in those universes.
It would be logical, but the chapter dedicated to universes 1 and 10 clarifies that the kaio-shins would intervene 4 years after what we see in this chapter page 554, because it makes a lot of sense to take years to stop a massacre and looting on a galactic scale, but when a racist civilization is being exterminated come instantly...

This reads a bit like it was written after 2-3 pints, when spelling is still coherent, but ideas are starting to break through the box. I commented because I enjoyed.

Ooh! Now there's an idea! XD
Just personal opinion -- and a too-lazy-to-go-back-and-look-thoroughly one at that -- I feel that the authors of the main story line have been reasonably fastidious in exploring the key and special characters so far.
I feel that I'K'L is going to play a small but significant role.
Mary Sue may yet come to the rescue -- I had totally forgotten about her until now.
With the bumbling fools that are the Vargas (and, to some extent, the Universe 1 Kaoshins), the advent of XXI's sinister machinations (who knows what they are!) and Gast's goal, and on top of all that add the seemingly not-yet-fully-resolved situation with Buu and Uub, it seems to me that shite is going to hit the fan real fast once the main story line picks up again.
To sum it up, I feel that:
* there must be a reason for Uub's upgrade;
* Zen Buu is yet to make a return one way or another;
* Vegito is yet to explode;
* XXI and J'K'L will surely cause some havoc.
But those are just my own feelings; and, as unreferenced/supported as they are, I'm blurting it all out just because I'm so excited by this page! :D
P.S. If one does a search for "WoW XXI" in Google Search, an Undead Shadow Priest can be found. Could this have anything to do with DBM's XXI? Could it have anything to do with DBM's authors themselves? I love a good conspiracy. 1 Respuesta(s)

Many interesting discussions here and I'm a bit late but Salagir wrote this on the discord server:
"There is something I didn't read in all these reaction in Vegetto : he isn't jealous of "anyone". He isn't jealous of stronger persons. He is jealous that "HIMSELF" in another universe, while in what he consider to be a lower state (non fused) went one transformation higher than him."

Yeah that's quite a fresh way to look at it, too. Thanks for reposting that here.
I'm too lazy to spend lots of thought into trying to think of ways to justify Vegito's face-heel turn or debunk it.
Mostly -- and yeah sure I'll admit that I'm a fanboi if that makes people happy -- I trust the authors to come up with a good story and reason for Vegito's eventual turn. After all, we've had 10+ years of pretty decent story-telling -- not to mention art.
I feel like ZenBuu will be brought back. Either because Vegito gets so frustrated with having lost in the way he did and part of his temper tantrum would be to threaten the Vargas to bring ZenBuu back so that he could beat him, or that Vegito gets out of control and the only way the other folks see to neutralize that threat is with ZenBuu's help, and then negotiate with the Vargas to bring him back.
It also seems like the only way to get Uub back... I imagine that ZenBuu created a pocket universe to train Uub, and Porunga and Shenlong wouldn't be able to affect that universe or the beings within.

I would think that they wouldn't have any compunctions about killing each other, as they both know that if a death occurs, the birds would bring them back to life soon-ish.

It's a professional compulsion... but whenever I see the capital letters "BAF" together, my mind automatically recalls "Bonded Acetate Fibre" ????

I think the perceived "slowness" is very much due to what many other readers have said -- that the fight's progress appears slow because we're only reading a few pages a week.
I think the end of the fight will ultimately be worth it, however. For me (very possibly due to my poor memory & recall), this fight has been full of surprises until this recent back-and-forth. And I feel that this final exchange of blows is really building up to something quite significant.

Last page to this page... It's almost a bit awkward, in the sense that, why did Vegeta swing again this page with his right arm? I would've thought that swinging with his left on this page would be easier to physically transition.
At the same time: Is it just me, or is there an inordinate number of pages in this chapter? Sorry I'm too lazy to click into the chapter list to count, but it almost feels like the authors are doing us a favor by seemingly wanting to reach the end of this fight before jumping into the next mini comic?
And I do love the cleverness of the fighters in this... well, fight! New ways to use existing techniques and all that! 1 Respuesta(s)

Not gonna lie, it would be hilarious to see people's reaction to this endless battle ending with a draw, making the whole thing completely pointless, just so Vegeto flips because burocracy. lol
Unfortunately both are alive on Bardock's visions and it would be quite the lame tantrum if they can just use the dragon balls while it's happening.

Ooh! Good point; I had forgotten about that!
Guess we'll just have to sit back and watch it all unfold as the creators envision it.
No I think this looks like a draw, now. The vibes in this page, the way they move, the kind of blows they're exchanging... To me, it seems like the next page both fighters will fall down, and it would come down to "who stands up first", but then I'm feeling that neither will stand, after the 30-(or however many)-second mark. In fact they might both die at this point from exhaustion and physical damage.
This would then be when something happens, some disagreement about how to proceed, some debates or opinions being thrown around, that would finally set off Vegito's tantrum.
The tantrum then becomes a universal / multi-versal problem because the Vargas and Namekians had not had the time to resolve a way to proceed with the tournament and therefore hadn't resurrected Goku and Vegeta yet. Without them being alive and fusing, there's no other being who would be able and willing to take on Vegito and defeat him.
That's my guess anyway. 1 Respuesta(s)

Does anyone happen to have a take on why, in panel 4, why does Vegeta's beam look more like a string of gigantic beads? I couldn't think of a possible reason myself, or how I'm misreading the image.
Thanks!

Thanks!
I think that using the finished-in-0.5s thing is very effective to stress the speed. Otherwise, showing the full fight and then trying to stress the speed, would not create enough of an impact for us to understand Vegeto's subsequent madness -- if that was the purpose.

It seems to me that the previous page and this one, together are the catalyst for Vegito's multi-universal-endangering tantrums as foreseen by Bardock. If so, then the vast speed with which Goku's and Vegeta's battle was over, was a necessity.
What great storytelling!
