Mystic Raditz as the Elder Kai said, whilst weaker than SSJ3 Vegeta, is only so slightly, so even in a pure 1vs1 he would have held his own and could have even won with some luck or using Vegeta's arrogance or some of his other weakness to his advantage, or even outlasting his SSJ3 with Mystic that has no such weakness... But with immortal Kakarotto in SSJ2 next to him ? With them barely damaged vs Vegeta who is damaged VERY HEAVILY and has 1 eye out of the commision ? It just ain't happening, Vegeta doesn't even have a 0% chance, it's in the negative numbers LMAO :D
Aaaand that's before even adding the fact that in DMB canon, SSJ3 last even less than in the original... and Vegeta has been in his SSJ3 for WAY too long, even by DMB standards and is heavily battle damaged... He will be insanely, extremely lucky if his SSJ3 doesn't drop panel 1 next page, aka literally instantly as he is seen walking up to them in the last panel of this page, which is most likely what Salagir and the team have in mind, cause it'd be funny for Raditz and Kakarotto get all hyped up for beating him together, brotherly bondign and shit and he just detransforms right in front of them...
Also one other possibility is that, whilst they are not seen on this page or the last page, the first page of them being TP'd home neyt to their royal palace shows them still wearing the Potara, what prevents them from refusing again by removing them and putting them back on in like 30 minutes of running, unless ofc that was a mistake and that's why tey are not drawn in the last 2 pages :/

I actually think Elder Kai might be using Raditz as a pawn against XXI. But I can also see Vegeta showing up and getting in the way of the plan (once again Vegeta helping the main villain except this time not intentionally) so we get to see Mystic Raditz vs SSJ3 Vegeta (U13 Vegeta) and Vegeta gets clobbered most likely but then Raditz is not able to deal with XXI (not that he had much chance given what a sneaky and crafty magician XXI is especially if U13 Vegeta wore him down. And I do think XXI will respond to Elder Kai, because we know now Elder Kai is plotting to destroy XXI and XXI must surely know this by now and what will really play into XXI's hands is Vegetto's insanity. After all, how can you worry about XXI when Vegetto will be a more immediate danger? This means U9 Fighters and U13 Raditz will have to face XXI themselves, but then what could make things even spicier is U8 might make a b-line for the Dragon Balls and they (Frieza, Cooler and Ginyu) end up fighting XXI.

I can't see any reason to introduce us to two rando members of the audience this far into the story otherwise, and we already know that XXI has a weird power to possess people.

It's kind of a shame, because I do like Zen Buu as a character conceptually, I feel like the reason I was overly critical towards what was being done with him was just that I always knew from a storytelling perspective that if you create a character who is completely unbeatable and then the story needs them gone, then something is going to have to give and it's not going to be very satisfying. If anything, I would've preferred that his defeat hadn't come from the Vargas just going "Yeah, Science!" out of nowhere because I feel like Buu would've been prepared against something like that with his mind-reading, but for his defeat to be treated more like a gag, more in line with the whimsical nature that Dragon Ball could sometiems have.

Maybe somebody from Universe 2 could've left behind a literal plot device before leaving that turned out to be the key to sending Buu back to his own dimension or destroying him or whatever. At least that hangs a lampshade on his defeat, and could've even been said to have been foreshadowed somewhat as Arale was one of the few characters that Zen Buu has ever admitted outright inferiority to with no deception. (Seeing Arale's abilities actually made him SWEAT)

Ah well, what's done is done. At least he was pretty fun while he lasted. The story needed him gone so he was made to git, just like Raichi ended up dying conveniently before the entire audience and a massive number of strong fighters also ended up dying, and then when he was resurrected (which I still think was kinda weird given Gast believed such a thing would be impossible) he left before Vegito could get punched in half.

For me, Raichi was probably my favorite fighter in the tournament, honestly, but he, like Zen Buu, has an ability that is EXTREMELY irritating for a writer to get around. Like, I do some writing sometimes myself, and from that perspective, at least a character like Zen Buu is whimsical and already practically omnipotent in the confines of the story, somebody with a personality and ability like Raichi meanwhile makes it so that you can't have anybody TOO strong get killed in or outside of a match when he's around, otherwise he'll get far more powerful, he's actually got an agenda.
You just know that if he were still around, and Vegito had just died, he'd have Ghost Vegito kill every Saiyan present.

Anyway, looking forward to what Old Kai is planning.

No doubt Zen Buu is too OPed, in fact, his level of overpowered kind of sucks some of the fun off of U4 Buu being a whimsical troll when he only got one moment where he actually faced real karma for it (and that was when Gast put Buu into a goo ball, shows how impressive Gast is when he pwned Zen Buu and Vegetto easily though Zen Buu easily pwned Gast in return).

Yeah, Raichi would also have become OPed just for the fact that he would have a Ghost Vegetto if Vegetto were to die here. But honestly Raichi while he was relevant in the story manages to be powerful but by no means unbeatable, certainly nothing next to U4 Buu.

One thing I am not sure about is Buu being entirely gone. I don't think he is hiding right now and that he actually is stuck in U4 for now and I think he would stay there if not for one character shaking things up, XXI.

If XXI hijacks the ability to travel to other universes successfully (which plays into his ultimate goal) I really don't doubt U4 Buu comes to play there by that point because if XXI is a danger to all universes, this includes U4 and Buu is a part of U4. I'K'L seemed certain XXI has the potential to threaten all worlds and in a vision Bardock has you could see Piccolo (U16, U18 or both Piccolos, idk) zoinking out about how "all universes are in danger".

My point wasn't that Raichi was extremely powerful, just that he's EXTREMELY hard to write a story around. A character who exists who makes it so the author needs to be careful who he kills off otherwise that character will just become unstoppable. This is why he died prior to the Majin Rebellion because otherwise he'd have

In terms of writing, Raichi in my opinion is a character harder to deal with than Buu which is why he died when he did.
