My prediction is that Buu will get out of his egg. The dial started on the right hand side and already appears to be at 75%. The Vargas likely won't send Buu back until the Kaioshins come to an agreement, and since the dial filled this quickly with only 2 minutes of talking, it's very likely Buu will get out.

However, I do think that this will be the end of Buu shortly after.

Buu will likely emerge enraged, and will lash out at everyone. He will likely quickly sabotage the universal tech to prevent himself from being warped back. Even if he was warped back to his universe, Buu would likely find some way back to the tournament. That's why I think Buu will die here, to move the plot forward and to highlight the next Antagonist.

I think Vegito will permenantly kill Buu this time. He will likely use the soul-killing technique he mentioned while fighting Cold Ginyu, and will obliterate Buu.

Vegito or another hero stepping in seems to be the only way to advance the plot and permenantly keep Buu away. Vegito is here this time, and he is at full power. Also, Vegito is already very angry due to things with Bra, Gast stopping him earlier, his rage at Buu with his "Dishonest magicians" comment, and XXI's cheap victory. Vegito is likely at a boiling point now, and will take his anger out in cathartic rage at Buu.

I have the feeling that Vegito will make the surprise attack in this chapter. The chapter is named "Dishobest Magicians", which was Vegito's quote earlier. He's likely going to stop Buu, in a brutal way, framing him as the next upcoming Antagonist so that Bardock's vision gets fulfilled.

This is my theory. The reason why the Grand Kaioshin and Buu are working together... is because Grand Kaio is actually Bibidi in disguise. Not Babidi, but Bibidi.

In the Universe 1 special that happened a long time ago, Bibidi was one of the only characters present. The Kaioshins foiled his plan to create Buu, and they seemed to vaporize Bibidi. However, just before they did so, Bibidi can be seen attempting to put up a shield spell. Which means that he may have survived.

My theory is this. Bibidi's shield worked, and he hid himself and survived the attack somehow. He hid and recovered over time, but his plan to create Buu was permenantly ruined. So, he instead decided to take revenge on the Kaioshins.

Bibidi could have secretly studied them and then worked to kill and replace the Grand Supreme Kai when the others were not near him. Bibidi could have used his magic to disguise himself as the Grand Supreme Kai, which would put him as the effective ruler of the universe.

However, living the life of the Grand Supreme Kai may have made Bibidi complacent. Over the years his rage may have faded, and he may have begun to gain the peaceful mindset of Grand Kaio.

However, the multiverse tournament presented him with an opportunity to find what was permenantly lost to him: An opportunity to find Buu, his ultimate lost creation. So he did, and he arranged the tournament. He sought out Buu and found him, the strongest Buu to ever exist. Buu, of course, was aware that Grand Kaio was actually Bibidi in disguise. He recognized him as his creator, and Bibidi recognized Buu as his creation. I think they may have gained a mutual respect for one another, since they now rule their own respective universes. Bibidi and Buu decided to work together and collaborate, sharing their new mindsets and approaches with each other.

After all, who would Buu respect this much, out of anyone? He hated Babidi, but Bibidi is different, we don't know the full extent of their relationship. Even the original form of Buu respected Bibidi and viewed him as his father, and never killed or rebelled against him. It is very possible that Buu still respects Bibidi, and they reunited at the tournament, now working together.

It may not happen, but it's an interesting concept to think about, and it could explain a lot. 2 Antworten

To me, Zen Buu's defeat here makes sense. I think the writers did a good job on this plotline. It follows classic Dragon Ball writing.

XXI has been built up as the main villain for a long time. If XXI lost here it would have taken the plot off the rails. In true DBZ style, they showed how dangerous XXI is by having him obliterate the previous most dangerous character, which is Zen Buu. From a writing perspective, it's the same as when Vegeta killed Nappa in DBZ. Nappa was invincible and destroyed the team, but then Vegeta destroyed Nappa in a single hit, which showed how dangerous Vegeta is. The same thing is happening here, it's a tried and true approach for successful Dragon Ball plotlines.

The sealing spell had already been mentioned in the past. This situation was being set up years in advanced. The silver bullet to defeating Buu had already been mentioned long ago, so from a writing sense, it had to be used here to permenantly end the fight. Having Buu do a "wait I'm still in this fight haha" would have gone against the setup.

Also, the Rule of 3 suggested that XXI would quickly win this fight. XXI quickly defeated Vegito, with no reveal. XXI defeated 18, with no reveal. XXI defeated Buu, and now he finally is revealed. It follows the previously established pattern of the story, and now it sets us up for the true conflict with XXI in the coming fights, which is where his battles will actually get complex.

In terms of powers, Zen Buu has no way of blocking the sealing spell. The sealing spell is a silver bullet designed to stop Buu. It only works on Buu, and it works perfectly on Buu. The sealing spell was used by Bibidi to counter anything Buu can throw at them. Bibidi created Buu, and perfectly knows his fundamental nature. Buu is much stronger now, yes, but he is still Buu. His body is still made of the same substance, and his magic still comes from the same source. A very strong Buu is still fundamentally Buu.

Buu's magic may seem incredible, but he is not omnipotent. He can revive people and create things and warp people, but he can't just do anything.

Buu is very strong, but he still obeys the fundamental magic laws of the universe. The fundamental laws state that this spell exists that can perfectly seal Buu away. There's no way for him to counter that. It's very specific, with no room for negotiation. The sealing spell works perfectly on Buu, and only Buu.

I'm calling it now.

I think XXI will use Babidi's sealing spell to seal Buu away permenantly.

Look closely at the page, it shows the evil hand above XXI grabbing the Buu piece.

XXI will win this fight with the sealing spell.

I feel that Berrizo's final version of the chapter was absolutely incredible, even though many people disagree. These other art styles are very nice, but I feel that Berrizo's art style fit best for Bojack's character and personality.

I actually don't feel that the traditional Dragon Ball art style does justice to Bojack. Bojack is supposed to be a scoundrel who is short tempered and deceitful. I don't feel that the "perfect cell" look he has in traditional Dragon Ball style art fits him, it makes Bojack look too flawless and graceful, which are the wrong themes for his personality.

I feel that Berrizo's style fit with Bojack much better, and the new art style was able to show so much more variety and emotion for the characters. The style didn't force Bojack to be handsome or graceful looking. Instead, the new art presented him differently in each panel, showing Bojack in a way that perfectly represented his attitude. The panel of Bojack waving his hands towards the ladies on the ship, it's much more emotion-filled in Berrizo's version, since it really captures his inner scheming and mischeviousness. Same with when Bojack blows up the city in the flashback, Bojack in that panel is drawn to look very crude and wild, because he IS crude and wild. The art is perfectly capturing what the scene is meant to show. And then you have the panel of Bojack looking surprised when Bujin betrays him, and I love that panel. You can actually feel Bojack's loss in that moment. Berrizo's art shows that Bojack honestly considered Bujin a friend, and that he is genuinely surprised by the betrayal.

Berrizo's style fit with the variety and emotion that Bojack needed, which allowed the artist to capture the expressions of Bojack and the characters much more accurately. I do love the traditional Dragon Ball artstyle, but it just doesn't fit Bojack. Forcing Bojack to look handsome and graceful just defeats his character. Berrizo's version was able to capture so much more emotion in this special with the freedom of the new art style.

The previous versions are excellent too, I do adore the other art styles, and seeing them was fun. I just feel Berrizo's tone fit this chapter and its characters the best.

The Sacred Temple women do have a lot to gain by leaving Bujin alive.

I could see them wanting to execute him too regardless of his help, but it does go deeper than that.

First, technically Bujin had nothing to do with the tragedy on their planet. It seems that Zangya led the group there, and Bojack destroyed the city, so it makes sense to take those two out for revenge. Bujin was just sort of present, but he didn't actually do anything. So he has association with Bojack, but the Sacred Temple doesn't have a strong reason to hate him specifically.

Second, leaving Bujin alive could be a strategic move. As comments above mentioned, killing the entire gang would create a power vacuum and would encourage other warlords to rise up (Such as Gorkor the Great, lol). The DBZ-verse does have a ton of decently strong beings who mainly hide when there is someone stronger (like Frieza or Bojack). And it's clear that most of the universe is intact based on the Supreme Kai's comments. If the entire Bojack Gang was killed it could throw the universe into anarchy with different people scrambling to claim power. But Bujin staying alive would keep would-be villains too afraid to make a move, since he vastly outclasses beings weaker than Frieza.

Sure, Bujin could technically betray the Sacred Temple ladies and kill them later. But all his character development seems to point against this. Bujin became disgusted in Bojack's methods over the years, and viewed Bojack as dim, careless, and wasteful. Bujin is definitely no Bojack-level threat. At worst, Bujin would lead a Frieza-stype empire but with less planet exploding, since he is more strategic with things (And Frieza left most of the galaxy intact, he just wanted to control it). I don't think Bujin is even interested in conquest, he strikes me more as a Raditz-type villain at worst, maybe just taking enough to live off of and not caring about large scale conquest. Bujin could very well just be a pacifist from now on for all we know. But basically, his large-scale benefits greatly outweigh the dangers of leaving a power vacuum.

Also, the ladies probably have powers to test his loyalties anyways, and did so offscreen.

TL;DR: They have much more to gain from leaving Bujin alive, and they probably had ways to ensure he would be passive towards them, which would explain why they were so chill towards Bujin during the tournament.

However, it's all a moot discussion if he dies from the previous attack anyways

My prediction: Goku wins by default.

Based on this panel, my guess is that Goku is definitely still alive. Uub did beat him, but he's not a killer. He just wanted to win, not destroy Goku. So Goku is still alive, just unconscious.

My guess is that Uub will die instantly from a too-strong Kaioken. Since Uub is dead and Goku is unconscious, they will declare Goku the winner by default of being the only one still alive.

It makes more sense thematically for Goku to continue on I feel. Goku still has a lot more he can do in the next matches, especially a Goku vs Vegeta rematch. Goku fighting Vegeta, Cell, or even XXI all make sense story wise.

But Uub just finished a huge part of his character arc. Uub's real goal was to surpass Goku, not to win the tournament. Uub has literally nothing to gain from winning the tournament or continuing on. He has no connection to Cell or Vegeta. And his village is already set financially, so the wish doesn't have much meaning to Uub.

Rather, Uub's goal all this time was to surpass Goku. He wanted to become stronger than him and finally surpass him in a fair fight, which he now did. Uub doesn't care about continuing in the tournament, his story arc was just about defeating Goku, which he just did.

Story wise it is fitting for Uub to die here and get ressurected later. Uub just accomplished his goal by beating Goku fairly, but there's not much story reason propelling him to the next fights. I think it would be most poetic for Uub to have KO'd Goku, but Goku be declared as the person to continue due to Uub's death. It matches both their stories best.

I really like this chapter, it adds to the lore and better explains how everything started. I hope that moving forward, we get to see some of these characters in the tournament arena, like Mad Duck, Gloose, and the Dean/Scientist Lady. It would make sense that they would be present in the audience since they were the first Vargras involved. It would be cool to see them commenting on tournament events and the dangers of multiverse travel as we go forward.

I think that Zen Buu will not be around much longer sadly. His next fight is with XXI.

Judging by where the plot is going, XXI MUST win this fight. It will probably be by cheap means again. And I think I know how it ends.

XXI is probably going to use the Buu-Sealing spell that Babidi mentioned a long time ago. Babidi had claimed that he could have sealed Buu away, but chose not to. My guess is that XXI will use this spell, and that Buu will be removed from the plot unfortunately.

DBZ has always had the pattern of taking the strongest character, and then having them get beaten by an even stronger villain to show how strong the villain is. Looks like this is getting ready to happen with XXI. 1 Antworten

Frieza and Cooler are actually making a very smart move right now.

The politics of their universe depend greatly on all three Frost Demons. All 3 of them can be in very different places at once, and can be exerting their rule and control wherever it is needed. Each Frost Demon has a great deal of power and influence over the planets specific to their own territories. They have much greater political power in numbers.

In the current situation, Frieza and Cooler are handling the brunt of the political work for Cold, which is favorable for him. If he just killed them, he would lose literally 2/3's of his group's political influence over the entire universe.

If Cold Ginyu killed the other two, his rule would fall into utter chaos. Remember, he may be strong, but he can still only be in one place at one time. Once his universe realized that 2/3's of the frost demons were dead, almost his entire empire would go into open revolt, and Cold Ginyu would lose an unfathomable amount of planets from his control. Power may be on his side, but time is not. Even if he personally went to quell each rebellion, new ones would pop up elsewhere. He would need to spend literally his entire life visiting and crushing each and every rebellion, only for more rebellions to pop up on the other side of the universe.

Cold has much more to gain from working with Frieza and Cooler. They do a ton of political work too, and keep their territories in order, allowing Cold to do other stuff like train. Politically, he would suffer an enormous loss if he killed them. It's in his best interest to work with them and show face.

The Hanasia story showed a lot of this. When even just one Frost Demon showed weakness, huge numbers of planets went into revolt. The Frost Demons' raw power isn't their main strength; Their greatest strength is their numbers, and being able to exert that level of power in many different places at once. 1 Antworten

DeepFreeze was saying: I'm calling it now. The "Grand Supreme Kai" is actually Bibidi in disguise.

In the special for their universe, the only other person really shown was Bibidi, who was putting up a shield before they "killed" him. I belive that he somehow survived that and his shield worked, and he came back to the Supreme Kai's for revenge, killing and replacing their leader. Maybe he replaced the Grand Supreme Kai a long time ago, or maybe it was very recent. Hard to say right now.

But if he is Bibidi, it would explain a lot. For one, why he's friends with Super Buu. Bibidi and the earlier versions of Buu worked closer together, so it makes sense why Buu might somewhat trust Bibidi more than Babidi.

My guess is that Bibidi/Grand Supreme Kai is not evil though. Maybe he planned to wreck havoc at first, but once he started pretending to be the Grand Supreme Kai, he turned soft over the years, or maybe he has some other sort of goal. I don't think he's hard-core evil though, and I'm curious to see what Bibidi/Grand Supreme Kai will do as events play out further.

I’m sorry but no, that’s far too convoluted. The most likely reason for the Kai’s abnormal behaviour, is XXI. It’s possible that the tournament will be some way to bait a multiversal threat, XXI, and that’s why he’s keen to keep as many people around as possible, including Buu.

The idea that Grand Supreme Kai is Bibidi is fairly straightforward. It's just the "how" and the "why" that I'm speculating about.

Their universe has only gotten one chapter so far, and the focus of that chapter is on the Kais and Bibidi. In terms of storytelling, Bibidi has been shown the most out of other people in their universe, implying that there is a potential connection. It's a perfectly reasonable idea to think that Bibidi might be involved somehow, given that he was essentially the only other person shown in their backstory so far, and that he was hinted to potentially survive with his shield.

We don't really know much about XXI yet, so it would be too hard to say that him being involved is likely, since we don't have much solid info on who or what XXI even is yet. So it's hard to say one way or another on that front.

We should avoid saying others are wrong without any evidence disproving something. When we work to cordially discuss the facts, we can have a more productive discussion, and can understand more about the story :) 1 Antworten

Well... that's a departure from Broly's normal personality.
Up until now he has been delightfully destructive. Or perhaps I should say he delighted in destruction. Relished wrecking his foes. Gleefully annihilated that which was in his path.
However, it seems that Broly was determined to win this time, and the Gotenks part of Z-Buu poked the bear just a little bit too much. I suppose it's fitting that the reason why Broly would win is because he got serious. He put aside his habit of toying with his opponent and just went straight for the kill. No torturous beating. No sadistic breaking. Just the kill.

Ironically, having everyone fuse through Buu may have been their downfall. Broly seems to have been most annoyed by Z-Buu escaping his grip unharmed. He couldn't cause Buu any pain, so it wasn't fun. And because it wasn't fun, just annoying, there was no reason to drag it out.

Edit: Actually, this chapter's probably not done, though this second chapter could be a short one. So Buu may very well still be alive. Either way, it doesn't look good for him, since Broly seems to be in kill mode now.

That's really good analysis, that's interesting!! It gives a really good commentary on why Broly will win this battle, as he's without his greatest weaknesses now. 1 Antworten

Ummm...he never considered this would happen because maybe he actually had faith in her that she wouldn't fall for Babbadi spell? I guess him being a good father makes him a bad father as well.

Actually, Vegito is 100% responsible, parent wise. XisBack made a good point earlier:

XisBack sagte:

But on the other hand this can be some sort of reality ensues, if this wasn't Dragon Ball: you've a baby who is born with a PL of 10.000, more than Nappa when he came on earth.
Now think if you're a mere human and try to cuddle her when she throws a temper tantrum. Probably you end up in tiny pieces.
In reality Bulma probably couldn't even take care of such a monster

(Granted, I know this is Dragon Ball and it is not what happened, but I felt it was a nice point to make about how Dragon Ball could really work differently if it followed the rules of real life)

Saiyan kids are NOT normal kids, and the series has shown us that time and time again. Bulma would have been way out of her depth trying to teach Bra self-control; Honestly, even when Vegito tried to teach Bra in the room of Spirit and Time, HE came out with a number of scratches and bruises! And she was a kid then! So yeah, I don't think we can hold Bulma responsible at all. Bulma would have literally died if she tried ^^'

Vegito on the other hand, is responsible. He's strong enough to physically endure Bra's tantrums, and he is Goku and Vegeta combined, so in theory he should have 2X the experience with dealing with saiyan kids. Plus, unlike Bulma, Vegito understands ki control and saiyan instincts and all that, which is a big part of what Bra needs to control. Parent wise, Bulma literally cannot do anything to tame Bra or she will die. Vegito is the only person who can (He even admitted so at the end of the U16 special).

And someone made a good point earlier about the brain not being fully developed until age 25. Vegito is responsible for everything Bra did pre-torunament. And Vegito's way of fixing problems was:

— At Bra's birth, Vegito treated her world-shattering a power as a joke, and said "oh yay I beat Broly lol!"

— When Bra almost destroyed the planet, Vegito tried to teach her a meaningful lesson, but got frustrated and walked away literally hours later the same day. (let that one sink in for a second. Your kid almost blows up the planet, and you give up trying to help her like 3 hours later)

— After Gohan patches up the situation, Vegito turns the learning experience into "Oh hey go have a joke match against Gotenks, all fixed lol!"

— Sends a ~13 year old Bra to fight space mobsters who play dirty.

— Vegito threatened to kill a 13 year old, to her face.

Vegito is responsible parent-wise, and has made bad parental choices long before the tournament even began. I would give more merit to arguments that say she's responsible for her tournament actions, since she's probably an adult now (My guess is she used the Room of Spirit and Time, so her current age is 18+ now anyways). But either way, the damage was done a long time ago by Vegito; The signs were there and he could have prevented it, but he gave up almost instantly : ( 3 Antworten

im going to make a video about son bra on its not her fault ....its vagitos fault

Thank you!! Please link me when you make the video!

I think a lot of people are putting too much blame on Bra, and not enough blame on Vegito. When you take a moment to look at Vegito's position,he's 100% to blame, not Bra. Vegito's shock in this page shows just how oblivious he is to his own parental failings; He never even considered this would happen, and did nothing to prevent it.

Vegito is basically a near-omnipotent god in his universe. Literally no one is stronger than him. Time and time again in this series, he's acted extremely cocky. He flaunts his power, mocks his foes with how superior he is, and refuses to take bad situations seriously. Just look at the first page of the recent Universe 16 comic; He basically treats the whole thing like a joke at first.

Bra was born with a power relative to his (not close to equal, but still way above everyone else). Since he's her parent and the one person who can control her, he should be 100% responsible for every single thing that happened during her childhood. He should have been there every moment and trained her self control... but we see the opposite.

He got frustrated and walked out when Bra was in the room of Spirit and Time, and after Gohan resolved the situation for him. Then, Vegito basically turned it into a joke match against Gotenks instead of treating the situation seriously, and teaching Bra a meaningful lesson. Basically, all he taught her was that he doesn't take these issues seriously at all, and walks out when he gets frustrated.

During the 4-way mission where Bra destroyed the planet, Vegito basically sent two kids to basically fight severely dangerous mobsters. Goten and Bra may be strong, but at that time they're still children, and their brains are undeveloped. As a parent, what did he think would happen sending them alone like that?! And in the end, time and time again, Vegito blames "Bra's Stubbornness" instead of himself. Instead of admiting that he's being irresponsible at basic parenting skills, he's blaming the other person.

And now, he enrolls her in a tournament filled with evil forces from the darkest corners of the multiverse. His solution to everything is fighting and saiyan pride; He's the worst parenting traits of both Goku and Vegeta, combined. He may have been physically present during Bra's childhood, but he walked away time and time again when he should have taken real action.

At the end of the day, this is Vegito's fault, because he should have been a responsible parent. Now, watch him make another mistake, as he gets infuriated and blames Bra for all of this in the next pages.
