I wonder if XXI is using a technique similar to Roshi's Max Mode, Garlic Jr's Super form, and SSJ Grade 3, where it trades speed for power.
That would help explain why he needs to rely on these captured creatures to weaken opponents enough for the speed disadvantage to be less of an issue.
Especially so since the environment makes ki based senses impossible from how Goku and Piccolo noted on.
The gadget further add to this suspicion, since it would not emit a ki signature and serves to further divide an opponent's concentration.
All in all, I am fairly interested in seeing how this develops.
Maybe his black smoke is actually a weaponization of the Dead Zone and that is also how he trapped Janemba.

Isn't the main difference between main and future that the future androids cooked for longer so more of Gero's programming got into them?
I don't disagree that it would be nice if we got more development from the guest universe characters though.
You'd think seeing these alternate histories might rock them a bit more to their cores.

I think the issue for a lot of people is while it is cool in concept, it isn't as if it isn't something you could see in some fanart that is totally disconnected. What brings it down for me is that it is either not canonical to the comic itself (Old Kai imagination) or it is not really being explored outside of a single fight. I love U13 being this group of assholes that hate each other but couldn't function without one another. I would have loved a Mystic Raditz forcing Vegeta to actually discuss things and pushing both of them to become better people to each other. Kakarot has a lot of space to develop too given how much he seems to have underlying psychological issues. Overall I think that's what most gets me down about the comic is when we have these neat characters that could be explored more as they are now, but we end up retreading through how their pasts were different. It could have been really cool if like Team Bojack turned on Bojack after learning what he did in every other timeline and how he acts during the tournament. Bardock could have formed a connection with his alternate grandchildren and King Piccolo could see just how much stronger Junior is by growing compassionate. I don't know, I just like, wanted to see more of these characters interacting in this brief space outside of just fighting all the time.

I just feel kinda bummed. Like is a Kakarot and Raditz fusion cool? Yes. Is Mystic Raditz cool? Yes! I was so excited about the prospect of it even. U13 Vegeta being sent along with the other 'good guys' during the Majin Rebellion was also really cool.

I just had hoped that they would play a greater role in the concluding arcs of DBM rather than be shunted off back to their universe. I think that goes the same for other universes that left prematurely for one reason or another. Like it would be so cool to see some of the villain verses get rehabilitated through being humbled.
