This would sell differently if there were a number of pages showing XXI revealing he knows Vegetto is hiding it but he's getting weak, and Vegetto getting the shakes or something. Then XXI comes to him with this bean and Vegetto actually hesitates and XXI gives him a deal or something that would make it plausible XXI would give him a legit bean because he's getting something out of it. Maybe in THOSE circumstances I can see Vegetto giving in and eating it. The problem with this is that then people would be complaining endlessly that the progression was slow, so it's not like they can win.

Imo the one thing that makes crazy rage monster Vegetto hard to take is the fact that we already have that character in Bra and Vegetto is shown to be calmer than her, and tries to moderate and train her. It could work writing wise if more work was done to show that Vegetto is basically like Bra, and the reason he's so hard on her is that he sees it in himself. I'm thinking back to the time Vegeta went nuts in the Buu arc and let himself become a Majin. The Kaoshin challenged him and Vegeta gave this speech about him having no idea what it's like as a Saiyan to be reduced to domesticity and forever live in the shadow of his rival. The thing is, we've already done the Majin thing with Bra, so we at least have to have Vegetto acknowledge that he would be acting like Bra to go nuts. The thing with the Vegetto "character assassination" argument is that it basically has to be this way in order to end up with the situation where he goes berserk and becomes a threat to someone. Vegetto being unstable is already locked in, so something has to set him off. It would be abrupt if it was a single instance, so things have been slowly eating away at him as he gets repeatedly defeated by things he wouldn't normally expect to be able to defeat him back home. Vegetto has to be a bad guy at this point. It's locked into the story because of the flashbacks. He's also partly the reason Bra is so wacko. Is I'K'L really androgynous? He has an effeminate looking face, but a masculine body (though with the proportions of a short man). Androgynous means it's ambiguous and people would be confused, right? I think he's obviously a male character. That's just what I see.

Another thing I'm thinking with the dragon balls is this: what if Vegetto becomes so fed up of tricks and sorcerors that being upstaged by Yamcha is the final straw and he tries to seize the Dragonballs so he can use them to get rid of all magic in the multiverse?

What are the chances that Vegetto is revived but then threatens Yamcha after this and accuses him of hiding his power. Someone tries to step in and it escalates.

I don't think he does struggle with 18. She just blocks one of his punches. You can't tell if someone struggles from an instant exchange. Maybe he threw those punches with less commitment to pace himself, and he threw his attacks with full force against 16. The only way to say he would be struggling if he had a protracted fight against 18 where he was failing to damage her. You can't tell from a single exchange that it's automatically inconsistent.

Funniest and coolest outcome here would be if Yamcha is revealed to be in his classic pose, but then when I'K'L is off guard fighting 17 and 18, he suddenly springs up and punches through I'K'L, turning a classic moment of Yamcha getting his ass kicked around into Yamcha kicking ass! 1 Replie(s)

The more I think on the fact that everything breaks into crystals, the more it makes sense. Anyone not affected by the time stop can still move stuff they are touching, but those things can only be manipulated where they are being touched, or in a small distance around that. This means forces can't be distributed through objects evenly; only the part that is being directly hit, so all the parts that are still frozen around a part being punched would fracture from it. You can also see that the debris from 16's explosion has become time stopped again once it's gone a certain distance from his energy blast.

Thought it wasn't a gag. It's in concert with Dragonball that things can have gag elements, like attack names/references, but still have serious consequences, so I was prepared for this. I think it's unlikely that he'll be able to just one shot everyone this way. His time stop ability probably wears off and he has to reapply it, if it's based off Star Platinum from JoJo. Maybe he can one shot a bunch of guys like this (they have no passive ki defenses while time stopped I suppose...), but someone's going to figure out what he's doing and attack him in the cooldown. I don't see how he can just one shot EVERYONE, unless this is Salagirs way of ending the comic (while pissing everyone off). That would be weird given there aren't even that many matches left to do.

Classic dragonball mixed gags and sincere stuff in the same scene, so it could be this is an inconsequential gag that ends next page, or it could be that he just can use a technique that separately exists as a stand power in the JoJo universe. I mean, Roshi nearly defeated Goku with a move named after a game show. I guess we'll know soon, but if anybody is confused; The World (or ZAWURDO) is able to stop time for a period of a few seconds from the users perspective.

The people naysaying every move in this fight are being ridiculous.
1: People generally punch others in the jaw/face not the forehead.
2: This is a move that actually works in real life. Bass Rutten, a real life martial artist did to a guy who was throwing powershots during sparring.
3: They are weak and low on ki, and since DB fighters use ki to strengthen their bodies, being low on ki means moves that work based on bone structure will be more effective.

Re the SSJ3 discussion: The difference is probably that SSJ3 requires a tremendous amount of power to just stay in the form. Here, maintaining the form requires very little, and they are tired because they CHOSE to use a tremendous amount of energy to move really fast. I'm fine with this spin, but I think it misreads Roshi's character a little bit. He IS pervert, he IS a low level molester creep, and that's wrong... but I don't think that's driven by some kind of traditionalism about women's rights (you can even have the other thing; Chris-Chan was a pervert who idolized women). I think his perversion is much simpler than that; pure Id stuff. I think he'd be more the type to rationalize it away if asked.
