Then the question arises, why did they accept the bad guys into the tournament to begin with? It's simple: Because of the excuses and the sob stories. It would have been much better. Obviously the story would have needed to change for that, and we would need to wait longer for the tournament to continue, but at least it would have been fun for me.

To put it plain and simple: Buu is great because he doesn't have any excuses. He does as he pleases because he can. Save everyone on this random planet? Why not. Kill everyone on this random planet? Heh, yes. Put a cannibal plague on this planet? Hilarious! Put a super libido enhancing "plague" on this planet? Have fun!

Not a terrible human being, just immature. You're in the teenage mindset of destruction and chaos and havoc for it's own sake is fun and you know what? It can be. But most people grow up and eventually realize that breaking stuff just for the sake of breaking stuff and wanting to see death and gore and blood and "mad grins" as you put it for their own sake is usually pretty uninteresting. It shows in how you like Buu for just doing whatever he wants, his behavior childlike and impulsive without rhyme or reason, and a worship of his power more than his character.

You can have villains like that, but they're usually boring compared to more composed or even downright sinister villains like Freeza, who isn't just a psycho slasher smile killer. He absolutely delights in crushing people like ants under his heel, but he knows what restraint is, and when he does do it he does it with a touch of grace, making it clear how above them he is, not needing to do more than lift a finger.

The only part you're really onto something with is someone who has no excuses. Someone who doesn't try to explain away what they do: An antagonist who has his reasons and doesn't make excuses for them. They knew what they were doing and own it. Those are the strongest personalities among antagonistic forces, the ones with purpose and unyielding resolve to do it no matter what. They don't need to be forgiven, because they do not believe what they're doing needs to be.

I mean an OPed Tyrant character like Freiza isn't all that interesting even compared to Zeb Buu tbh. He is a cliche on a stick. I mean Cell is more interesting in comparison to either actually even though he also craves destruction and terror.

If Vegito does try to kill Bra again would the Vargas do anything about it since it's his own universe? If not she's in much more danger because nobody from the other universes can protect her or they will get sent back.

Cell would be calling the pot kettle black actually because he was pulling strings to suit himself while he was Majin so he would actually be worse than Bra in that regard, even if he did less damage. It would be in Cell's best interest to stay silent on the matter.

2. If Bra is now a full-on good guy… then *she is back to who she was in 2008.* DBM spent 12 years adding flaws to Bra just to remove them. We could’ve just stuck to her 2008 characterization and saved all that time, hassle, fan rage, and author favoritism.

3. All Bra’s faults are things she can’t be blamed for: she is absolutely not at fault for her control issues or what she did as a Majin. Take those away (which the story has, through plot convenience) and there’s nothing at all wrong with her. That makes her…a flawless OC, stronger than canon characters, with more screentime than canon characters, whom canon characters jump in to praise and defend. What do we call those?

4. Characters were retconned or acted out-of-character to make this possible. I recommend reading Genghis Khan’s https://dbmenglish.freeforums.net/post/55207">forum post about how Vegito isn’t as bad as he’s painted. But Gotenks, U18 Bra—even Pan and Vegeta (who’s been silent as he’s been called out by Gotenks) have acted inconsistently. Now U19: “Oh wow, this person murdered Phipsil and Ned and we come from a universe where resurrections are impossible. In fact, we were so distraught by Tidar dying we had a moment of silence for him at lunch despite knowing he’d be resurrected! But nah, let’s just pass this off as ‘family issues’ and be done with it.” So… how many people is that acting out-of-character for Bra, now?
DBM’s writing has become more and more contrived in recent years. Things happen with no foreshadowing or buildup or else offscreen, presumably for “surprise” purposes. But a surprise that doesn’t make any sense isn’t surprising the second readthrough, and still doesn’t make any sense. DBM has GT and DBS’s mistakes to learn from and yet it’s made the same mistakes—sometimes even worse. DBM was specifically intended to be a better DBZ sequel than GT, but I’m not sure what GT left out which a character like Bra is supposed to fix…and she certainly hasn’t done the job well.

Years later Bra reaches ssj3, goes on a rampage and kills everyone. Gotenks and Bra blame Vegito for this. Yenma says bullshit and sends them straight to hell for their fuckup.

Vegito opens an interuniversal pizza delivery where he teleports pizza's across the universe. He becomes a billionaire from this.

The whole point of this arc was not only bra's redemption but also preparing vegito as the final boss villain.
There's little to nothing in this a!ternate take that paints vegito as a villain which he is.

1. Cell vs. Dabura; Where Cell removed his head to preserve enough of his body to completely screw over Dabura's spit thing. A very smart thing to do, and showed very well how Cell is probably the most expert tactician in the entire series.

1) Vegetto might not be subtle, he wouldnt pick up the corpse of his son by the NECK

For me the problem with SSB and SSG is it's narratively useless. Every Saiyajin's transformations talk about something.
The Triple Kaïoken

The Kaioken is the first step in understanding the different transformations of the Saïyans.
It is about a gain of energy, a discharge of adrenaline and the more one goes up in the quantity of power "requested" the more the reaction for the body is violent. In the fight against Vegeta, Goku goes beyond his limits by summoning the Triple Kaioken. Her body is raw, the reddened skin tears in places, and every vein and streak in her muscles becomes apparent.
This technique makes the body monstrous and injures its user ...

The Super Saiyan is logic after that because Kaioken explaint that too much power is dangerous for the body.
In addition, during his fight, Freeza explains that he must transform in order to be able to control his insane energy.
It is the same with the Saiyen. For my part, I consider that from a certain point in the training, they "unlock" an additional power pack.
But this one is so huge that it would destroy the body of its host then in order to be able to control it, the Saiyans pass to a higher state.
At this level the warrior's muscles swell slightly and are more drawn. We have here an ideal fighter who is as imposing as he is mobile...

In the Cell saga, we discover that the transformation into a super Saiyan has several levels of power. The concern is that the body is only increasing the volume of the muscles to be able to channel this power. Here it is underlined by the fact that they are more apparent, drawn and inflated. The fighter will even grow a little. This capacity of the body to inflate poses a real problem because it arrives at a time when the mass taken is so enormous that it decreases the speed and the dexterity of the fighter.
A body absolutely not made for the fight which returns to that of the extreme bodybuilders who do not shape themselves to fight.
(For my part, I consider that Broly is stuck in this transformation which is similar to that of Hulk.)

While he can't move because he has too big muscles, the body of the Saïyen is transformed to be able to manage all this energy.
The body is refined, it is even thinner than the normal Super Saiyan but much more traced, fast and dangerous. Lightning appears and the hairstyle becomes electric.
All the faults of the previous transformations disappear to leave room for a body perfectly chiseled for combat and wielding monstrously great power. The SSJ2.

Once you get to ssj2, the body doesn't need to transform further.
So the only thing he can have is extra strength gain that he can control. The ssj3 is kind of an ultimate Kaïoken for super saïyen except that the body which it obtains during the second transformation is sufficiently resistant only to take the discharge of energy and to have as a consequence only extreme fatigue and a limited time of use.

Personally, I like the SSJ4 transformation fort DBGT because it makes perfect sense in the various transformations that already exist and in addition really original in its design.
Once one has mastered the ultimate level of transformations, there remains a final stage for the Saïyen to reach.
Control of the energy developed during transformation into an ozaru.
What should be remembered is that during this transformation, the power is multiplied by 10.
The Saïyen 4 offers a warrior body that allows 10X control of the considerable power developed during the Saïyen 3.
It's an ultimate form that no longer needs an extra stage.
Here the body is reminiscent of that of the gorilla and even if the muscle mass gain is greater than in ssj2, speed and dexterity are not less reduced.

And that's why SSB and SSG are useless. It talk about nothing. the SSG says it's news because is faster and thiner but SSJ2 does it too. All the transformation before explore all the particularities of a good fighter. It no need more, certainly if it's for only making "more powerful" :)

Uhm, it's a bit difficult to explain where I stand. I believe in something similar what @Arcady Picardy said above. God and Blue are just new colours for the sake of new colours. That's all I see in them. This whole nonsense of X amount of pure-hearted saiyans bla bla blaing and that's the key... And of course, I usually - first and foremost - approach everything from a visual standpoint due to my profession and passion. I absolutely HATE sloppy design work. These are literally all the bad deviantart OC-s we ever saw - green-haired gokus, and purple-haired vegetas...literally people taking the paint bucket in photoshop and just adding a new colour. An additional point: I know this is manga/anime with half-animal creatures, crazy hair and transformation, beam-struggles and everything, not our world, but to me, it "made sense" that the dark-haired saiyan race when they transform (and get golden sparks and whatnot) turn their hair blonde/gold. On a spectrum for real hair - dark hair can become lighter, and in that fantasy world them going full-on platinum blonde for example is absolutely great design choice (and yes, I know how it came to be, Toriyama not wanting to ink Goku's hair, etc..). Now, black hair getting this very unnatural blueish tint is just absolutely horrible looking, and just jarring to me. The red I could stomach maybe, but the transformation itself is dumb to me, so I rule it out. Don't even make me go into SUPERSAIYANGODSUPERSAIYAN, or BLUESTBLUE OF BLUES for Vegeta, that was one of the saddest and lamest things I've seen in terms of transformations. Just, overkill. Ruining something that was otherwise still tasteful. It is such an overkill that these guys can turn their hair into every colour of the rainbow now..

But if 2) that flashback wasn't meant to make us feel bad for Bra, it's bad writing because the timing of the flashback and lack of context clearly portrayed Bra as a victim when this special shows she wasn't.

I Dislike the use of Lord Slug for U13. It seems too out of place for the saiyans to actually consider asking for aid from anyone, most especially a race they deem beneath them. If it really had to be a movie character, at least pick Turles, a fellow saiyan and space pirate with a similar goal to get stronger than Frieza. It would have made more sense to just race for a Namek instead of this detourning and the Lord Slug business.

Zen Buu has an insane amount of power, both physical and ki based as well as magical power. He's nowhere near as sadistic and childish as his DBZ counterpart, as his name "Zen Buu" implies. He's achieved some level of inner peace by absorbing such a wide range of characters and personality types, however he still really enjoys seeing a good battle, going as far as to risk getting kicked out of the tournament just to make things more interesting. If I'm not mistaken, he's currently blocking the ability of the other exiled fighters to sense the fighters at the tournament in order to see for himself how events unfold. He really doesn't care if everyone dies, because they all live on inside of him, and between his own magic and the Dragon Balls, there's really no consequence that can't be undone in his mind. In a lot of ways, Zen Buu can be seen as a representative of the fandom, or at least the perspective of the fans.
