I am more and more curious why XXI was worried. Was it the assumption Goku was like Kakarot in being immortal? Or was it that not even he was certain his time stop would work? This eldritch terror brings many questions, and I am excited for the answers now.

XXI is proving that he is easily the most dangerous and broken character in all of DBM for the simple fact that not only is he not stupid, it is that he is terrifyingly intelligent, and I am loving every second of this! From summoning Janemba to now abusing portal magic, I love this.
I admittedly still want Gast to win just because I want him and Goku to have the first actual battle between a Namekian and a Saiyan since the end of Dragon Ball. A battle between them both having agreed to use the wishes for the same goals, so there are no stakes, there are no fears, it just is a fun battle between two people who had to step up to save their universes time and time again.

I'K'L's mother is legitimately my favorite character now. She legitimately is unbothered by half of the story.

I desperately need someone to make that lightsaber oh my god.
Also that smoke behind XXI, the way he looks, I am still wondering what we'll see. The novelizations mentioned Bibidi having made Buu from that book that had ancient evils and dark magic in it, and I almost wonder if that is supposed to be XXI's book and if so what was he before. There is the lesser dragon, able to be summoned to answer questions, while the other is able to summon through his own magic what he is told to create.

Okay but, I am more appreciating the confused looks on Nappa flying in a way non-traditional for him, and 16 looking very, very confused what is happening behind him.

MysticVegito was saying:
Also, if Yemma truly condemned Roshi to Hell, why was there no mention of him being there during the period when he was dead in OG Dragon Ball, after he failed to imprison King Piccolo when he used the Evil Containment Wave? I'm pretty sure he would have alot more to say to Baba like "Yes, that's the thanks i get for training heroes and saving the world against evil." etc.

We actually do know the answer to him never going to Hell in OG Dragon Ball and that is because of the nature of his death being seen as connected to the Demon Clan as much as any others who were killed by King Piccolo's Demon Clan. Any who are killed by the Demon Clan are unable to have their souls find peace in an afterlife, doomed to wander forever. Just because his death was finished by the Mafuba failing does not matter since it is the magic of the Demon Clan that causes it. 1 Replie(s)
You know, that actually is a good way to explain away what was a plothole I had about the original Future Trunks timeline. Playing through Attack of the Saiyans when it came out, I had questioned why, if Baba could revive the dead to have them fight alongside the heroes, then they did not bring back the heroes who lost, or even better, after we learned about the likes of Olibu and others.
Her being dead actually makes a lot of things easier.

I love how he immediately called out something that was a major point of difference between the actual DragonBall characters and the DragonBallZ characters. We saw it in DB from the beginning with Goku, who found fighting fun and enjoyable, not because he wanted to win, but because he was enjoying life and improving himself. Tenshinhan had an entire story arc about finding his actual reason to fight, as did Yamcha and even Krillin. We never saw that truly in Piccolo and Vegeta until later in the story, and even then, it was never truly the same, because Vegeta just wanted to defeat Kakarot which we saw the results of when Goku died, while Piccolo was following the story and protecting Gohan and later the others.
Roshi is almost as old as Kami, and unlike Kami he watched the world evolve while actively involved in it, not watching from a throne above the petty humans. Rivalries don't make for motivation, nor does a desire to protect a single person. What makes for a true motivation is something truly from within. Living to be one's true self. This chapter has done more for my favorite character than ehe canon Future timeline did. Roshi would not have hid in a submarine like a coward. He would have been sharing the wisdom that he truly had.
Also I am curious who all Gohan will meet. Maybe he'll meet his namesake?

First time posting, made an account after having spent over the past decade following.
It seems we are finally getting our answer to that vision all those years ago with Yamcha, but this begs an interesting question as well. Living beings are affected, but not mechanical, what about ethereal beings like we could assume XXI is?
I also am curious, I will be honest my first assumptions were if this did go the gag route that we'd have Mary Sue save the day, given she talked before about having time travel as a power.
