Honestly, given how full of himself he is when he shows up in the android saga and reveals his super saiyan form, i wouldn't be surprised if he wins this with little difficulty.

Idk him being over confident because he turned super Sayain and beat up a space emperor seems more understandable than him being overconfident because he turned super Sayain and beat up a comet.
Besides there are plenty of reasons why Vegeta needs this win. In fact, I can't think of 18 reasons.
I know other people have mentioned it but this is the first time I'm seeing the potential connection between Xxi and Carbonite.
Also I love this chapter cover, they're always such creative references when Bra is involved <3
I believe that would be a different set of old Greek Crones. The Graeae(I think) are the three old witches who share a tooth and an eye.
The fates aren't actually depicted as being old women until around the Renaissance. And I think it's not until the 1700-1800s that all three are depicted as old ladies.

There's something I've been wondering about the Galactic Donut. I believe trunks when he says Gotenks provides a license for use, but Gotenks himself isn't a legal person.
Did trunks, who I assume is still a CEO or executive in this comic like he is in GT, register Gotenks as a legal partnership between himself and Goten?
Do you think he's sensitive about his forearms? They are weird to look at and I don't know why.

the author hasn't managed to make me feel any empathy for her. It feels like she’s just pretending to be a decent person.
During her match with Ghast she surrendered because she felt he was the better person to fight Xxi. Should would have liked to go all out but she put her responsibility towards the Ultra Soldiers first. This seemed like character change to me.
I personally Like Bra, though I do think this particular scrap would have been better if it'd been Gohan rushing to aid Pan. The chapter is discussing who the best Vegeta is, and if it'd been Gohan showing up to help it'd be like saying u18 Vegeta is better because he made friends. PIccolo's reasoning here would also have mirrored Vegeta's reaction to Gohan saving him on Namek and showed how their relationship deepened. To be fair though we did get that a chapter ago when he entrusted gohan with his children's coffins.
I'm still hoping Raditz shows up; he needs his resolve with u13's bad boys. 1 Replie(s)

How is he losing??? U18 should've one-shotted u13???
I mean they are both ssj3, u13 Veggie had a powerup from Xxi, and u18 had to protect his two partners above all else.
The main edge u13 has is the FroZone though. Keep in mind the punch didn't do anything more than knock U18 back, being pushed through this zone is what damaged him.
LMAO was saying:
Wholesome, unsurprising, not gory enough so makes me sad.
It wouldn't be very dragonball-esque to make it gory would it? When children are killed in Dragonball it's normally a lot more clean with no blood- Like Krillin agains Tambourine or with the androids in the trunks special.
Though I could see u13 using some kind of "perfected" fireworks attack and just popping her heart. That's what I thought had happened last page, and I figured we'd see Pan Drop down blank faced or Veggie kick her away into the Frozone.
I am much happier with this development though; it's a nod to u18's character growth and his skill at being the first one we've seen to block this attack. Also I'd rather not see a Pan in a freezer trope. 1 Replie(s)

I got three guesses on this!
1. Precious metals like a gold; if other universes are like our exchanges it's pretty easy to convert their currency into that, or they may still be on currency systems that use metals already.
2. The Varga have a system for taking an in-universe currency and will handle the exchange of that themselves; so a spectator from our universe would pay like X USD or CAD or Rupees and there would be some Varga whose job it would be to exchange that for gold/oil/items of necessity on Earth.
3. Barter System! (this is my favorite guess) They had a list of stuff they needed to run the tournament and if they are taking spectators who don't share a common currency, they could ask them to pay in something they'd need. Maybe our four armed friend in the panel paid by providing the salt the kitchen used for meals, and maybe Eye-patch paid by helping build the apartments or providing towels.
This, and the fact the Varga did technically provide the full tournament before calamity struck, would also explain why they can't issue refunds. 1 Replie(s)

Piccolo needs to fuse with himself, the namekians, and Gast. Then they can defeat XXI and then just use the dragon balls to reverse the merger. Easy peasy.
How effective would the non-piccolo namekians be in a fusion at the level of Ghast? I feel like it'd be a drop in the bucket.
Also, that'd mean U16 and u18 would lose their piccolos.
Aside from all the issue like losing their will and personality, these fighters have been around long enough to know they need to think about their needs in the future and not just the crisis in front of them. There also isn't a guarantee that the dragon can reverse a merger like that- Ghast never got to ask one and in the novel they couldn't reverse Potaro fusions.
And if that resulted in a stronger Ghast(who hasn't been found yet) would that even help?
Piccolo was crucial here because he had the quick-wit and experience to develop a counter to a seemingly impossible move. If the two fused you'd lose one of those brilliant tacticians.

I do wonder what happened with 17 and 18. I guess we don't know what happened between this universe and trunks' timeline.
Maybe in trunks' timeline, Gero was found after attacking that island off of south city and he felt like he had to activate them. In this timeline Goku would have had no trigger to go SSj, so Gero and his energy stealing models were enough. He probably weighed the risks of their disobedience and destroyed them.
Idk if it's sad or sweet that 16 isn't here though. He modeled his revenge-droid after his son but with no need for revenge (since he thought he killed the son family) no need to make an android modeled after his son. 3 Replie(s)

I'm guessing he wouldn't have had a reason to activate them even though he started the project. This Goku died a few years prior to U7, and there was no Gohan or Piccolo to pose a threat either. Just them humans.
Butttt I imagine he's still tinkering away, and in a prior U7 chapter Gero did acknowledge he had a responsibility as Earth's ruler to eradicate the alien threat of Ghast. I could see him being the impromptu hero who defeats Freeza in this universe. (It's fun to speculate :D )

Videl wanted to take the easy route. Secure their victory with the help of the U1 Dragon Balls. This, of course, means reviving her family members and then returning home. Vegeta is seething with rage at the thought of not avenging his children. Of bringing those responsible to justice.
And Videl, in turn, has another good point. A head-on attack on XXI could fail and lead to their own defeat. From Videl's point of view, Vegeta is openly risking the resurrection of their deceased family members for the sake of revenge.
Of course, Videl's second sentence was unnecessary. However, this applies to emotionally charged people. Especially parents who have just lost their children. And I think it suits Videl quite well. She has always been temperamental and argumentative. A feisty women afterall. Modern DB wants us to believe retroactively that this is not the case just because she got pregnant. We started the tournament (almost 2 decades ago) with the knowledge from DBZ that Buu was a villian and that Uub was a hero prodigy of Goku.
Now he have Uub going off concerned about Buu and wanting to find him; and it totally makes sense given the story.

Why yes, I would like cutesy romance in my dragon ball fanfic.

I wonder if she's mad because he took such a risk or because his plan involved turning her back into a person.
Passing the training likely meant her bring permanently destroyed to her, maybe bringing her back took away her sense of purpose?
Is She gonna go all Agent Smith on him now?

We can tell that this is that risky level that goes beyond what he should do, and was what he used to smack around ssj3 Goku. I don't think multipliers would help here since they're at levels where multipliers would need to constantly change as they grew.
I mean the first time we actually saw a transcended form was Goku going to Kaioken X3 and x4 right? Then a few months later Goku could go x20 with perfect control.
I don't know why you think Goku using Kaioken x3 and x4 was "transcended" but it was never stated, implied, or in any way shape or form said to be "transcended". That's a DBM exclusive term for Kaioken Also multipliers are just math. Multipliers don't change based on how high a number is. Multiplying something by 2 still results in double a number.

Idk the big muscles, lost pupils, and strained facial expressions look pretty similar to how Goku looked using it against Vegeta, when 3x and 4x were pushing past his body's limits.
And transcended just means going beyond right? 2 Replie(s)

Looks cool but the "maximum" and "transcended" phrasing is kind of meaningless without something to reference against it, especially since multipliers were ditched.

.....why are the Pan fights the only ones to get meaningful changes and completely brand new pages?
That's not even remotely true.
Aside from all of the other additions done, the whole colored dbm series started with an extra universe being shown.
Buttt she has had some extra pages and some html do hickeys, I figured that was because the main story is getting an html treatment and the colored renditions seem to try and follow a pattern of callback with the main one.
These artists really work on this.
This is a beautiful page but Uub has a boot on.

The original was a bit scarier and honestly kinda too far so I like the rework.
I would like it if this was rework and removal of Kakarot's line here, but technically that came after pans inner monologue.
Sooo It may still be here on the next page

I like this version of the page because Kakarots memories make his past more severe. Also, it cuts the most creepiest and possibly darkest scene of the multiverse comic.
Although it is not confirmed what exactly he meant, the indication is disturbing enough.

We all know what's implied, but clearly this kakarot has less social norms than even Goku
I can see a scene where He's forcing them to play badmitten with him to help him understand if it's the same as tennis. XD
You guys put so much work into this and I love it.
Also Im imagining an Oni being sent down by Yemma and ordered to whisper "Uub" til she chose it.

All these build ups and Cliffhangers x_x you're ending a special I was really excited for to move onto a flashback I've also been really excited for.
Also the Art is amazing, I can't imagine how hard they worked to get all these details on the page but I am loving it <3

tbh it shows Pan has a pretty damn okay power level, Goku and Piccolo had legit problems with Raditz's armor

Beyond that it shows her skill; roshi talks aboutt the discipline needed to manage a Kamehameha with feet when Goku was fighting piccolo at the world martial arts tournament.
Plus it clearly knocked the wind (and sanity) out of kakarot, this kid seriously punches above her weight class. 1 Replie(s)

I really try to not get into powerscaling.. but I just cant imagine that Gast, who kept up with his training, is struggling against a Cell at 1/5th power, who is alread far weaker than mainstream cell, esspecially after he just emberassed King Cold in his 4th form.
And given how people are likely still dying left and right, this cant be playing into his "Im looking for a challenge anywhere I can" attitude either. This is just... nonsensical.

He didn't embarrass King Cold though, did he? He states that if it wasn't for King Cold fighting so recklessly he wouldn't have been able to use the finisher that he did, and then when the fight is over he is completely exhausted.
In the manga, when they learn about Gohan killing Raditz, Nappa's first reaction is that they can repopulate the sayain race with powerful half-human hybrids.
Vegeta shoots down the idea, noting that would lead to a bunch of children stronger than them.
I never thought much of the interaction but t's amazing how the writer turned stuff like that into a full character analysis and conflict.

Vegeta could never forgive Nasu for taking the cooler sayain armor. He realized shoulder pads were out of fashion just a bit too late.

To be fair Raditz might be the only reason Gohan survived.
Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but there's something off about Vegeta's reaction. Like he's more shocked than angry..?

This is a Vegeta who would kill his comrades as well if they're losing badly (like Nappa). If Nasu/Gohan really wanted I bet he could pass this off as killing the weakest of their group and Vegeta would be okay. 2 Replie(s)

To be fair Tien won't need to have them mastered in 24 hours, just the tools necessary to master them after Goku went back

Ps Did Bulma during those years did anything to help them to get stronger like creating a gravity chamber?
Ps Did Bulma during those years did anything to help them to get stronger like creating a gravity chamber?
She probably helped loads, but we gotta remember how limited they'd be.
Using gravity chambers wasn't thought of until Goku, coming back from King Kaio's with the idea, asked doctor Brief to make one in a ship.
Plus when he was training in it he was exploiting sayain biology with zenkais. If a human tried what he and Vegeta did they'd probably just break their bones.
You know they can look at him funny but that Vargas needs that damn wish.

Maybe, maybe not. Yeah he killed Raditz but he might be telling everyone, himself included, that it was because Raditz was weak and making a fool of the Sayains.

In hindsight idk why I expected Launch before Puar.
Also Damn Chi-Chi is strong. Her husband was killed ten years ago and on that same day her child was abducted by the killer. Idk if I would have had the strength to keep going.
If I was Gohan/Nasu idk if I'd have the strength to face her, even though it wasn't his fault.
I love how this story is going!

I don't know. I'm leaning towards these two being Chichi and Bulma. I could easily be wrong but the footwear matches up. I don't think any of the cyborgs and androids have attire like that on, both in the main and Ghast's timelines. If that's true then this might get a whole lot darker because there's no way Nasu isn't going to recognise on some instinctual level his own mother. Anything happens to her, that would likely cause him to snap and kill whatever Saiyan who murdered her.
I agree ^ I'm guessing Roshi, launch, Bulma, or chichi. Even in the main timeline they were ready to throw down, Gohan just sat on Vegeta before they could get there.
Though it's looking like Raditz and Nappa might be getting a little bit done with Vegeta in this timeline.

Omg I remember you from way back then! I've been following for about the same time. I remember you being a lot more active back in the day when the comment sections were pretty wild and somewhat angry.
Like you said this really is a great manga. Even with the loud critics, I don't imagine they would be so upset if they weren't so invested in the twists and turns of the story.
