XXI wasn't a fan of the awards show and wanted to move on with the plot.



It was useful filler in the end.

If anything, I'm actually surprised with how many universes we still have around, U8, U14 and Mary Sue should have left the tournament when I'K'L's mother left a couple chapters ago. 1 Réponse(s)

I like that DBM keeps the absorbing effect as little ki drops, it was a great addition from the anime and not many games keep it, if they ever add #19 or Dr.Gero as playable characters.

It really is a shame Dr. Gero didn't make the cut as one of the universes in the tournament, I imagine after almost 30 years he would have evolved this absorbtion technique to the point any part of his body would let it absorb energy to make him inmune to ki blasts, like Super 17 does in GT.

U18 Gogeta would be so overpowered, SSJ Zero doesn't waste any ki so he'd use his full power and wouldn't split before time runs out like Gotenks. 1 Réponse(s)

I was expecting Mary Sue to leave with I'K'L's mother to protect her universe too and as a way to fully remove all gags characters, but this outcome is way funnier, I love it.

I like the addition of the "Empty balconies" panel, it feels ominous and shows we're on the final stretch of the story after so many years. It makes me wonder if it'll be used again in this same chapter, so I'll list which universes are left and why they'd stay until the end of the tournament:

— U1: The Kaioshins and Vargas are the hosts of the tournament,so of course they'll always be present.
— U2: Only Mary Sue is left, but who knows? Maybe in the next panel she decides to go back to her gag universe with the powers she obviously has since no one is paying her attention.
— U5: XXI is the final big threat of this fanfic and he's still participating, he's not going anywhere.
— U7: Gast is still participating, but it could be an interesting twist if this chapter ends with Gast disqualified by XXI's actions or even defused, so the hundred demerged Namekians just leave inmediately. He's too powerful to be kept around XXI, so he's not making it one way or the other,sadly.
— U8: I don't really see any of the U8 group actually making a difference in the final conflict,they're already aware they can't steal the Dragon Balls and they were even planning to leave before the Majin rebellion. At best Ginyu/Cold could present enough strenght to do something, but I wouldn't miss them.
— U9: Old Kai is from this universe and he'll make sure to stop XXI when hell breaks loose, and the humans from this universe are really unexplored, so they could surprise everyone with their techniques.
— U12: A16 needs to be repaired after his battle with I'K'L (Which will probably be addressed in the next couple pages) so maybe Trunks leaves with him as only his Bulma can repair him, but at this point they both may as well decide to wait for the end.
— U13: Raditz may still prove to be a key piece of Old Kai's plan to defeat XXI,and after the previous "What-If" chapter, we have seen how it'd look if they came back to their universe now, so they're staying.
— U14: C17 wanted to recieve help from the U9 humans to reactivate C18 after her fight with XXI, but after they're both active and with Yamcha giving up on the twins, they at best stay for the food and because their world is devastated.
— U16/18: They're basically the protagonists of the story, absolutely no one expects them to leave.
— U17: Cell has already announced he'll stick around in case there's even more chances to increase his power, and I'm really curious on what the context between Goku bumping fists with a Cell Jr. is.
— U19: They're counting on Gast or Goku giving them one of their wishes to help with the carbonite problem, and their armor has some inmunity to magic as it's shown versus Buu, so they could show really useful against the magician.

If everyone I can reasonable see leaving does so, the roster for the final confrontation would be U1,U5,U7(Gast dead),U9,U12,U13,16,U17,U18 and U19, which sounds like a diverse cast where most bring out interesting options.

Ok, this absolutely cannot be actually happening in a flackback anymore now, I'll go with the theory someone proposed in the comments previously and say this is a hypothetical scenario by Old Kai. 1 Réponse(s)

Well, that was predictable, Vegeta always showed more prodigy in fighting, but it's still sad that Raditz wouldn't beat him even if he literally trained all his life.

What was really unexpected is Old Kai suggesting the Potara earrings, would Raditz go as far to fuse with Kakarotto to beat Vegeta when it's permanent it their case? It would kinda defeat his plan of living by their own while he took care of his little brother if he became one with his brother.





Wait,true, a fusion between Old Kai and Raditz would probably him on par with SSJ3 Vegeta, but it would result in a fighter with magic knowledge and the strenght to back it back. Old Kai was willing to give his own life so Goku could fight on Earth, he will be more than willing to fuse with another person if it meant saving the multiverse from XXI.

As for the name, RaditzKai feels appropiate, like the fusion Kibito and Supreme Kai being named KibitoKai. 1 Réponse(s)

Personally I think you handled XXI better than Moro on the same type of enemy, both of them are not extremely powerful on their own but they've shown to absorb of planets to grow their strenght, but XXI connects with the statement on how Old Kai how into the sword 75 million years ago by "incredibly strong and evil fellow", when Super made that character Beerus.

I liked how Toyotaro used Buu by channeling the memories of the Grand Supreme Kai who was the only with the required magic to seal him and how he's hyping Uub by stating he received God Ki from the Kaoishins Majin Buu absorbed, but in my opinion he should have made Moro the monster that sealed Old Kai in the sword without telling anyone ignoring the one-off comment from Beerus.

Wait, so this flashback is happening during the quarter final fights? The opening page plaed it "1 hour ago", which should be impossible when a whole night happens between those fights and Goku vs Vegeta, which is where we left off. Maybe it's a mistake and the Semifinals were meant to happen in the same day and it wasn't changed for the title page?

I was worried this last page for the special would be focused on Master Roshi recieving Enma's judgment (even if it's clear he would go to Heaven after a final sacrifice like his) and Gohan would be left without a motivation to move forward, but I like this final twist. After losing all of guides, Gohan realizes he will be the new guide for Trunks, continuing the cycle of hope.

They appear in the novel adaptation of Gohan's last fight, where Videl dies in front of Gohan and he manages to unlock SSJ2 out of rage, but the exhaustation and accumulated damage cost him the fight even with the power-up. Mr Satan survives and in U14, after Trunks doesn't manage to come back from the past to stop the Androids in time, Mr. Satan throws himself with explosives in a suicide attempt to stop the Androids.

I wonder if they'll ever make a comic adaptation of either of these events, like with the other flashbacks in One Way (the Future version of Frieza's arrival on Earth and Gohan dealing with Badibi's forces). 3 Réponse(s)

A while ago you mentioned that if you were to create the DBM bracket now you'd make the U10 Saiyans and Nameks fight as part of U1, so I was curious on what big change you'd have aplied to replace it. I made my own universe idea with the few unexplored ideas of the comic (Gero's backstory, Tao Pai Pai with the C17 and C18 enhancements and most movie villains, even if only one made it to the tournament), but it's good to know Future Gohan was also considered.

He probably means a special covering Raichi sending Hanasia's ghsot to kill all the Saiyans of that Universe after they left the tournament, like the novel and the Coloured scans. 2 Réponse(s)

Now that his existence in the story has paid off, I hope the next special is about U15 and how I'K'L was only created in this universe. I could have seen Master Roshi becoming the strongest by process of elimination if he came out of retirement after Trunks' death, becoming the strongest in the universe by process of elimination, but I wonder how Cell killing Trunks can affect other planets. 1 Réponse(s)

Don't forget Gohan holding half of a broken Dragon Ball,stating "he" can't get his wish while they have this part (I'm surprised they can break at all,honestly)

Damn, if Guido had just survived in U8 so he could have his (really brief) moment now. His limitation on only stopping time until he is out of breath was only established in the anime, in the manga he can hold until he just gets tired.

That could be the one way they have to remove Cell from the finale if they want to.

I'K'L fully proclaims he'll commit a massacre and the Vargas, absolutely tired of all the interruptions, decide to send all the contestants from U1 to their home universe, but accidentally transport Cell as well, and since he has already lost in the tournament they simply don't go look for him. Maybe it could result in a battle between Cell and newly born I'K'L for a final surprise chapter about U15.

What is more interesting is what can happen with all the Cell Jrs: Most of them were created in U0 , the one Cell creates to fight in the first Cell Jr.'s place in Round 1, then all the spawns from the Majin rebellion,but we see especifically ONE Cell Jr making friends with Goku in one of Bardock's flashbacks that have yet to happen, so maybe for some reason only the original Cell Jr that Cell came with from U17 stays and the Dragon Team decides to take him with them?

4 years later, and it seems there aren't any plans for it.

I really hope so as well. If they wanted to adapt the universe from Cell came from and every powerful warrior is dead, they could have brought Master Roshi, as even if he's really weak comparing to the rest of universes, he's still the last Z fighter alive.

I've always left that him and Dr. Gero are the only two characters that should have appeared in this tournament one way or the other, they're both important characters to the DB story as a whole. They could have brought a lot of interesting interactions, like Gero speaking with all his creations who still resent him, and Master Roshi admiring how all his students,even if in different timelines, are fighters of pure heart,even making U9 realize that not all Saiyans have to be brute and bloody.

Wait, so he wants to fight them alone? At least I would have taken Mr. Polo with him, considering how he is somewhat powerful (he could ate a Kid Goku's Kame Hame Ha), or heck, he could try to get a piece of hair of Raditz, who is clearly the strongest, and make another fighting doll with the same power, like Mr. Popo did to train Kid Goku.

I think there is a big change that she does that,since she said that shw didn't want to become stronger than her father and being more like her counterpart, but it's also possible that she still stays because of the promise that she made to the U19. In any case,she'll be destroyed with Gast's power and magic.

My theory is that what would happen is that XXI will defeat Buu, and Gast will defeat Bra,and in the second match of the semifinals ,since Gast will be inmune to any of XXI's tricks, XXI will lose and the whole final rampage will begin.

Now seriously, this has been my favorite fanfic among all of them(without counting the novelation of the tournament,of course), and I'll really miss it. The fact that we didn't know the outcome like in Twin Pain,where we know that the Z fighters will eventually die,here everything felt fresh and every characther was an original creation,but also fitting wonderfully in the Dragon Ball Universe.

I hope in a few years there is another fanfic about the Saiyan Revolution against the Tuffle and that also shows all the events narrated in this chapter. I would also love to see King Vegeta getting some atention,to show how he was truly worthy of the Saiyan royalty because of his leadership and bravery.

But if this is really the end, I'll just say thank you for this great story, Salagir.

I can understand the remorse Gohan feels against Cell,but at least he could appreciate more the Mini Cells. They are adorable and they helped him in the battle. Just because 7 of them tried to kill to his friends more than 25 years ago doesn't mean that all of them will be bad, jeez.

Hum,I hadn't thought of that possibility. I guess that we'll only know if we see Tapion in the next panels, becuase as you mentioned, Gast stated that it would be impossible to revive Raichi since he was a ghost. And if you end up being correct,it's probable that Tapion doesn't get resurrected until the end of the tournament, since he is the only one dead at the moment and they won't bring more Dragon Balls just to revive a single person.

Tbh,not reactivating C18 was kinda of a jerk move from Buu,but at least it seems he is "punished" after all.

Also,i wonder if the Frost Demons will decide to leave the tournament in this same chapter, since they don't have any other purpose to be there,both in the story and the tournament. After all,they don't have any competitors anymore,they've seen that they are completely outmatched by most of the other participants and can't steal the Dragon Balls and they were planning to leave before they fell in the mind controlled. Heck,we even got to see Frieza achieving another form and the Ginyu plot got resolved.

So yeah,imo they'll leave in this chapter,after passing through all the other plot points. And judging by C17's thoughts,it seems like they'll be leaving atfer the arc with Yamcha. 1 Réponse(s)

Tbh,the idea of Goku giving up so Uub can develop more as a fighter in the last fights sounds like a good twist for me,and not just Goku winning becuase it's just stronger.

Also,my theory for XXI vs Buu is that XXI will try the spell that Babidi mentioned when Zen Buu went in a rampage, but Buu will find a way to overcome it. After all, Buu is the only one that ACTUALLY knows the real form of XXI and he knows that there isn't going to be an easy way to win. Maybe in the fight will see XXI's origin and link with the Bardock's flashforwards.

And for Son Bra vs Gast,i think Bra is going to forfeit the match ,since she said that she wants to get stronger like with the U18 counterpart,and that doesn't involve fighting.

Definitely Vegeta.
Although I loved Cell's character in DBM and he's probably the only fighter in the top 8 that actually struggle to get there and had to think outside the box, there is no way he can win a Vegeta that more or less at his level 20 years and has never stopped training. Even if Cell was at his same level,I think the ace up his sleeve Vegeta has is the SSJ3 transformation so... yeah,Cell will lose the fight. 1 Réponse(s)

Finally,I caught up with the story, and it seems that it was in the right moment,I'm glad I can read the end of this story live!

I wonder if after this story,we're going to see the Saiyan revolution against the Tuffles,with the original King Vegeta leading the bloodbath that made them the rulers of Planet Plant after centuries of Tuffle opression.
