"Respectfully", this was absolutely one of the worst decisions that could have been made in Dragon Ball Multiverse. The entire build up of DBM, and it all resorted to essentially "XX oneshots goku, wins" type of nonsense. The reason why Gast VS XX was entertaining was because it was competitive. There were moments where you thought Gast was going to do something and actual win. And in the end, you felt the hopelessness of said character. Proper stratergy, and all the elements of a good back and forth fight were in play. You were the one who put in that expectation, and had Goku defeat Vegeta, Saligir.
To go from that, to this is a regressment and an insult to the character(goku) and to your entire fanbase. This was absolutely worse than the time the fighters talked Vegito down from doing more to bra and tried putting the blame on HIM.
There is no proper payoff now. There's nothing to look forward to. You have anhiliated whatever entertaining fight and development that could have been had. For the final match of your own series. An OC we still know little to nothing about.
May peace be with you in the future, Salagir. If you don't want to do DBM anymore, then just say so. Because by you not doing that, your hurting the quality of your own series by pulling this off as we head into the final stretches of DBM. Overall: Goku going through the tournament, achieving a new form, beating vegeta. Gast putting his all into his own fight. The payoff meant nothing and will never mean anything now. For example things like:
"Salagir is obviously burned out at this point, he's not motivated anymore; Salagir won't treat Goku with respect anymore in the future; that's it, DBM is over" and stuff like that.
Discuss, but in a friendly manner, without getting insulting. This is still Salagir's comic. Frankly, he doesn't owe anybody here anything, he can still do whatever he wants with his own story, wether you like it or absolutely disagree with it.
I really hate this level of logic, because by that definition, we attribute this to Game Of Thrones Finale, The new Star wars triology, Lost Season Finale, and other series that jumped the shark. Hypothetically, you can argue "the author can do what they want", but with this level of logic: We can also critisize it heavily
