It seems so random that the writer made Black (a being from U10) learn Kaioken with King Kai, and made him this overpowered by removing the Kaioken's drawback. Even the long-hair SS Rose Black from SDBH seems more believable than THIS Black. So we shouldn't count on him being tired out by Kaioken. Vegeta is as dead as Raditz and Nappa if he fails to take the Earth. Raditz failed once, that’s why Frieza sent all 4 of them this time. I doubt Frieza would tolerate another failure.

But Goku is the proof that initial power level doesn't always reflect natural talents.
This Nappa should be stronger than canon Nappa though, since he outlived his canon self by 10 years. And since the author decided to make him a teacher, maybe he will be a good teacher for Gohan.
The canon Nappa was never a teacher, especially not for Vegeta, despite what some people said. Maybe they get that idea from watching filler scenes and and inaccurate dubs. Even canon Vegeta said that he trained by himself his whole life and never had a teacher (until he met Beerus and Whis), so Nappa couldn't have trained him when he was young. At best, Nappa was Vegeta's sparring partner or bodyguard, but never a teacher. 1 Respuesta(s)

ahhh...Gohan charges first, that means he's about to get his ass whooped. That's usually how it is. Then we will hear Vegeta blabbering about his royal and elite status, and how he is better than the bloodline of the low-class Kakarot. Then Gohan gets help from the humans, or somehow gets a rage boost. Then the table turns and Vegeta starts bitching... And the fight will likely end with Vegeta dead or running away. Maybe everyone will die (Tien, Yamcha, ChiChi). Anyway I hope we'll get to see some insane twists.

Is Nappa still stronger than Gohan though? Vegeta seems to think Nappa is strong enough to kill Gohan.
Nappa is doomed. If he disobeys Vegeta, he will likely die. If he tries to fight Gohan... well, with Gohan's potential he's probably way above Nappa's level. And the humans wouldn't just stand around watching. They would seize the chance to take down Nappa.

Many of us Asians have tiger parents. Does that mean we can't bond with them? Does that mean we all grow up hating our tiger parents? No. Most of us appreciate our parents, despite their parenting style. Chichi is an exaggerated example of a tiger parent, typical Toriyama humor.
As a kid, I asked my aunts and uncles if I could live with them (just like Gohan asked Bulma). Does that mean I actually wanted to stay away from my parents? No. It's always funny when Western fans judge a character created by an Asian author using Western standards.
The "uncle Nappa" is as silly as the "tiger mom Chichi". Both were Americanized comedic versions of these characters. Chichi is just a typical Asian mom, not a terrible mother (exaggerated behavior just for humor). And Nappa is just a brutish jerk and Vegeta's bootlicker, not an uncle.

Westerner here- Would the author going down the “uncle Nappa” path that everyone’s talking about seem completely out of character for you? Genuine curiosity.

Many of us Asians have tiger parents. Does that mean we can't bond with them? Does that mean we all grow up hating our tiger parents? No. Most of us appreciate our parents, despite their parenting style. Chichi is an exaggerated example of a tiger parent, typical Toriyama humor.
As a kid, I asked my aunts and uncles if I could live with them (just like Gohan asked Bulma). Does that mean I actually wanted to stay away from my parents? No. It's always funny when Western fans judge a character created by an Asian author using Western standards.
The "uncle Nappa" is as silly as the "tiger mom Chichi". Both were Americanized comedic versions of these characters. Chichi is just a typical Asian mom, not a terrible mother (exaggerated behavior just for humor). And Nappa is just a brutish jerk and Vegeta's bootlicker, not an uncle.

Everybody knows DBM is about the "what-if" stories, alternate timelines... The tournament is just to give the universes a reason to meet each other, to give readers a chance to see the fights that can never happen in canon DB. When I first started reading this comic, I didn't even expect we would make it to the final. I thought the tournament would have to be cancelled and it would be come a heroes vs villains struggle a while back.

He could have thrown Nappa into a Saiyan pod and set the destination to send Nappa back to one of Frieza's planets, where they can put Nappa in a healing tank. Vegeta himself was near death when he lost to Zarbon, but Frieza's technology was advanced enough to heal him. While there is no guarantee that Nappa could be fully healed, Vegeta could have at least tried. But no, he just blasted him to dust.
But Vegeta is not being hypocritical here. He's just mad because Gohan betrayed the Saiyans, not because Raditz is dead.

I still enjoy the story, but you made some good points. After 10 years of training, especially with some help from Goku (if that's what this page implies), the humans should be able to stand their ground against the Saiyans. Goku could still find Kami and King Kai in the afterlife and learn from them, and then tell his human friends about the training methods he learned. That would help the humans train effectively.
And Frieza would never allow the Saiyans to grow stronger than his henchmen Zarbon and Dodoria. He would have killed them off if they grew that strong, to eliminate any potential threat. With 10 years of training, the humans should have surpassed Zarbon's and Dodoria's level.

They still don't know how to deal with IKL/XXI's Time Stop magic. Now that Yamcha is gone, A16 is the only one (among the "good guys") who is immune to it. XXI can stop time right now and steal the wish, unless the magic requires some recharge time.

Talk about cowardice, I think Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz all have that in them.
Nappa was angry that he couldn't touch Goku, so he attacked Krillin and Gohan by surprise, right after Vegeta told him to stop fighting Goku. He wanted to take his frustration out on the two little guys. It's kinda similar to what Raditz's doing here, he couldn't beat Yamcha, so he attacked the harmless humans.
Vegeta was cowardice af during the Namek saga, against the Ginyus and Frieza himself. He was very cocky when fighting Cui, Dodoria, and Zarbon. But he freaked out when faced by someone stronger than him, lost the will to fight and cried like a b*tch XD

In Eastern Asian languages (those with Chinese influence), the word Ma = demon, devil, ghoul, ghost, wraith, or anything evil or sinister in general. Ma has different meanings depending on the context. The technique's name when translated to English should be "Evil sealing wave" or "Evil sealing storm", not "Demon sealing wave."
So the target doesn't have to be a demon. Any evil being can be affected by this attack. Evil characters like Zamasu and Frost can surely be sealed by this. The only strange case was when Vegeta got accidentally sealed for a few seconds before Roshi freed him. Vegeta was no longer evil at that point.

However, when he isn't the one who starts the fight (meaning he is being attacked by someone else, good or evil), the mental block will have no effect, and he will be able to use his power for self-defense, and only for self-defense. They can also see his intention to use them to do his biding as well. So whatever "thoughts" and "memories" he's showing them are just fabricated or selected. Gero doesn't have the DNA of Vegeta, Frieza, and King Cold to create Cell, because they have never been to Earth.

Yeah, I realized that too. The bad guys knew about the dragon balls thanks to Piccolo, and the good guys knew about Namek thanks to Nappa. Gohan would grow stronger than Vegeta soon, considering how powerful Gohan was as a toddler, and the fact that this Vegeta doesn't have Goku as a motivation to get stronger.
But someone insecure and calculating like Vegeta wouldn't allow any Saiyan to be stronger than him. They may try to kill each other in the future. Vegeta will want to kill Gohan because he threatens his position as the most powerful Saiyan, and Gohan will want to kill Vegeta (along with Nappa and Raditz) to avenge his father.

No way Bra's gonna turn evil again, not after all that talk no jutsu after she was free from Babidi's spell. But she may do something unwise and cause troubles, despite having good intention. I don't think approaching a suspicious "person" like XXI without letting her friends know was a good idea. She wanted to negotiate with XXI, but she didn't even need too negotiate. I surely hope she knows that this is too good to be real, a favor from someone who can control evil.

He just summoned a pure evil being (Janemba) in front of everyone. Even if Bra doesn't think XXI is evil, at least she should realize that this old guy is sus af.

Can Gast help the other fighters to "unlock" more of their potentials? Like Guru did to Krillin and Gohan during the Namek saga?
Gast is a fusion of Nail, Guru, and other Namekians. He should have access to their abilities.

That's an interesting thought. And except for Android 18, all of XXI's opponents were fusions (Vegito, Gast, and Zen Buu. Each of them was made from two or more beings).

Yeah, I had the same thought. If XXI, like Buu, can gain the special powers / abilities of the people he consumed, then surely XXI would gain some OP magic after consuming Gast, especially the magic that Gast used to subdue Vegito and capture Zen Buu earlier.
If XXI is going to consume the multiverse, then he will have to fight powerful beings like Vegito and Buu. And unlike in the tournament where he can take advantage of the 30-sec rule to "win" against them, he will have to fight them to the death. So having access to Gast's magic would be useful in a fight against Vegito and/or Zen Buu.
Beerus and Whis made a cameo appearance on page 1164, I wonder how XXI would deal with those two if he plans to consume their universe, although they likely will never appear again in DBM. 1 Respuesta(s)

Well, he's helping Trunks to fight Black, so he's not interfering in an affair between mortals, but he's interfering in an affair between a god (Black) and a mortal (Trunks).
