Zamasu was inspired by her then.

Well, he's helping Trunks to fight Black, so he's not interfering in an affair between mortals, but he's interfering in an affair between a god (Black) and a mortal (Trunks). Basically he's trying to stop another god (himself from another timeline) from interfering with the lives of mortals. And he shouldn't be punished for this. 1 Respuesta(s)

Credit to Goku for effort, but I have to criticize him on his strategy. The kaioken is just a way more versatile and reliable technique than the genki dama, which needs several episodes to charge. If Tien was fighting alone, at least a high-level kaioken + kikoho might be able to win at the cost of his own life, but a genki dama is impossible to charge successfully in a 1 vs 1.

But Goku knew Tien wouldn't be fighting alone, because the Z team would be there when the Saiyans come. And 24 hours might not be enough to learn Kaioken, because it's more physically demanding and the body might need more time to rest and adapt.

Even if Zamasu is uncertain of their chances, there is the factor of Black's Kaioken continuously draining his stamina. It can't be something that's easy to maintain on top of his Rose form. Plus, doesn't Zamasu offer the abilities of a Kai? Those could be very useful here.

Black said earlier that Kaioken had no effect on his body because he's a special one. It seems so random that the writer made Black (a being from U10) learn Kaioken with King Kai, and made him this overpowered by removing the Kaioken's drawback. Even the long-hair SS Rose Black from SDBH seems more believable than THIS Black. So we shouldn't count on him being tired out by Kaioken. This is a "distorted" version of him after all. 1 Respuesta(s)

Black's genocide never made much sense to me. So he went to each universe one by one and killed all Kais (assuming he killed all kais otherwise the survivors would have become Supreme Kai and a new Destroyer would have been elected), and none of the Destroyers or angels tried to stop him?

Sooner or later, the gods will intervene. But they will do so only after a few more timelines have been wiped out by Black, just a typical trope, the people in power don't care until shits start getting seriously out of control. Also, I assume it was due to lack of communication between the gods of the universes. Gods don't appear to get along well with gods from other universes.

Black would never achieve his goal anyway. There were mortals like Broly, Moro, Jiren, Toppo, and even Merus the intern angel who lived and acted like a mortal... these guys would eat Black for breakfast. 1 Respuesta(s)

Vegeta is as dead as Raditz and Nappa if he fails to take the Earth. Raditz failed once, that’s why Frieza sent all 4 of them this time. I doubt Frieza would tolerate another failure.

No. Where did it ever say that was Vegeta's order? Even in the original show it was pretty much stated to be all Raditz's idea.

Only difference (major difference) of course was that Raditz succeeded here.

Why did he kidnap him? Watch the show again. The answer is plain and obvious. Raditz did not expect him to be a spoiled pampered brat.

Seriously these are obvious questions youre asking with obvious answers.

Blah blah blah…
Raditz asked Vegeta about it, so I thought Vegeta might have a say in this matter. That’s all. What are you on about?
And Raditz saw him crying and yelling during the fight, he knew how the boy behaved. Telling someone to watch the show again when you disagree with them? lol.

Yeah, but I thought Raditz needed to get a "go ahead" from Vegeta before taking Gohan. Now it's clear that Vegeta wasn't involved in the decision.

Considering the Power levels of the three saiyans in canon i don't think Nappa is a good teacher.
Remember that saiyens can be born in a rather wide range of initial power, which imo reflects their natural talent. And.. well:
Raditz, born low class, 1'500ish PL
Vegeta, born high class, 18'000 PL
And of course Nappa himself, born a noble and being (probably) in the 5k range.

IMO it's clear that he coasted entirely on natural talent rather than any actual instruction.

But Goku is the proof that initial power level doesn't always reflect natural talents.

This Nappa should be stronger than canon Nappa though, since he outlived his canon self by 10 years. And since the author decided to make him a teacher, maybe he will be a good teacher for Gohan.

The canon Nappa was never a teacher, especially not for Vegeta, despite what some people said. Maybe they get that idea from watching filler scenes and and inaccurate dubs. Even canon Vegeta said that he trained by himself his whole life and never had a teacher (until he met Beerus and Whis), so Nappa couldn't have trained him when he was young. At best, Nappa was Vegeta's sparring partner or bodyguard, but never a teacher. 1 Respuesta(s)

TFS Nappa, yes. But the real Nappa is too brash and inpatient to be a mentor. He likes to flex on the weak and loses his composure when a strong opponent shows up. I don't think he has the qualities of a mentor.

But here, he is the only one suitable to train Gohan, because Vegeta thinks too highly of himself and would never spend time training a child. He would leave that task to Nappa and Raditz. But Raditz is likely too weak to train Gohan (he sweated when Gohan's power level shot up during the fight with Goku and Piccolo), so Nappa is the only option.

I think it's just because Toriyama changed his plan for Vegeta. I think Gohan blocked out the memories he had on Earth, as a defense mechanism so he could survive in a world where he needed to commit atrocities or die.

He knew where he came from, but his feeling and memories only came back when he heard his mother.

That still doesn't make sense

Gohan couldn't stand his mom (literally asked if he could live with Bulma post Namek) and barely had any bond with his father (by the age of 16 Goku was absent for over 10 years). Both barely knew or cared for Gohan, Chichi was the definition of a tiger mom who made him study 24/7 without caring what he actually wanted and Goku a deadbeat who viewed Gohan as a mini him and again didn't care about his interests (the only actual time they ever spent together was training)

The true parental figure was Piccolo. In every adaptation this is shown and he is the one that effectively raised Gohan to be who he grew into

That never happened here, Nappa took that role and raised him to be a bloodthirsty killer, empathy and emotions are weak and so on.

Nasu doing a 180 like this makes no sense unless he either says he'll do it faster, plans to steal leadership from Vegeta (so be a true saiyan) or just goes full Omniman and says Earth isn't theirs to conquer

As if these Saiyans weren't verbally and physically abusive to Gohan in the 10 years he lived with them... If you think Gohan can't stand Chichi for being a tiger mom, can he stand these brutal, abusive Saiyans then? Do these Saiyan "uncles" care about his interests?

Many of us Asians have tiger parents. Does that mean we can't bond with them? Does that mean we all grow up hating our tiger parents? No. Most of us appreciate our parents, despite their parenting style. Chichi is an exaggerated example of a tiger parent, typical Toriyama humor.
As a kid, I asked my aunts and uncles if I could live with them (just like Gohan asked Bulma). Does that mean I actually wanted to stay away from my parents? No. It's always funny when Western fans judge a character created by an Asian author using Western standards.

The "uncle Nappa" is as silly as the "tiger mom Chichi". Both were Americanized comedic versions of these characters. Chichi is just a typical Asian mom, not a terrible mother (exaggerated behavior just for humor). And Nappa is just a brutish jerk and Vegeta's bootlicker, not an uncle.

"Gohan doing a 180 makes no sense?" It makes lots of sense to me.

Westerner here- Would the author going down the “uncle Nappa” path that everyone’s talking about seem completely out of character for you? Genuine curiosity.

Yes, if this Nappa puts himself at risk to protect Gohan. But that's not a big deal, I would still enjoy it, just like I enjoyed U13 Raditz being a good brother to his Kakarot. This is a fan comic.

I still enjoy the story, but you made some good points. After 10 years of training, especially with some help from Goku (if that's what this page implies), the humans should be able to stand their ground against the Saiyans. Goku could still find Kami and King Kai in the afterlife and learn from them, and then tell his human friends about the training methods he learned. That would help the humans train effectively.

And Frieza would never allow the Saiyans to grow stronger than his henchmen Zarbon and Dodoria. He would have killed them off if they grew that strong, to eliminate any potential threat. With 10 years of training, the humans should have surpassed Zarbon's and Dodoria's level.

He's probably just trying to prove himself or something by attacking like this.

Talk about cowardice, I think Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz all have that in them.

Nappa was angry that he couldn't touch Goku, so he attacked Krillin and Gohan by surprise, right after Vegeta told him to stop fighting Goku. He wanted to take his frustration out on the two little guys. It's kinda similar to what Raditz's doing here, he couldn't beat Yamcha, so he attacked the harmless humans.

Vegeta was cowardice af during the Namek saga, against the Ginyus and Frieza himself. He was very cocky when fighting Cui, Dodoria, and Zarbon. But he freaked out when faced by someone stronger than him, lost the will to fight and cried like a b*tch XD

Mentioned before but how about a Mafuba sealing coupled with a one-way trip to the Sun? Think that could work on the Saiyan Prince?

This is not the Mafuba version which got senselessly retconned by DBS. It does only work on demons. It even says so by it's name because it literally translates to 'demon sealing wave'

In Eastern Asian languages (those with Chinese influence), the word Ma = demon, devil, ghoul, ghost, wraith, or anything evil or sinister in general. Ma has different meanings depending on the context. The technique's name when translated to English should be "Evil sealing wave" or "Evil sealing storm", not "Demon sealing wave."
So the target doesn't have to be a demon. Any evil being can be affected by this attack. Evil characters like Zamasu and Frost can surely be sealed by this. The only strange case was when Vegeta got accidentally sealed for a few seconds before Roshi freed him. Vegeta was no longer evil at that point.

Doesn't this mental block make Raditz kind of useless? For example, a generic guard could kick Raditz's hindquarters with ease. They are just doing their job and are trying to feed their family. Or what if Raditz faces against an animal? I'm not sure Elder Kai thought this through.

I think the mental block will exert it effect only when Raditz is the one who initiates the fight. If he attacks a bad guy, his power will come out. If he attacks the innocent, his power will be blocked.

However, when he isn't the one who starts the fight (meaning he is being attacked by someone else, good or evil), the mental block will have no effect, and he will be able to use his power for self-defense, and only for self-defense. If he has evil intention during the fight, the block will activate. 1 Respuesta(s)

Called it. Of course it had to be Chiaotzu. He's already doing more here than he ever did in the canon Saiyan saga fight.

If the Earthlings are going to lose, at least it would be nice to see them throwing everything they have at the Saiyans before losing. Destructo disk, kamehameha, dodon ray, solar flare, wolf fang fist, spirit ball, and maybe some new techniques they invented in the last 10 years of training. They can also take advantage of the Saiyans' arrogance and inability to sense Ki to ambush/surprise them. I hope they prepared some strategies and didn't just focus on increasing combat power alone.

If they can hear his thoughts and see his past, then they know that he consumed universes and intends to do the same thing to other universes, likely including U13. If the Earthlings have been training hard in the last 10 years, and used the time chamber on Kami's place to give themselves a few extra years of training, they may stand a chance.

The Saiyans in this universe likely can't sense Ki, all of them are still wearing scouters here. The Earthlings can take advantage of that, tricking the Saiyans into thinking their opponents are weak, and surprise the Saiyans with some powerful attacks. If they manage to destroy their scouters, they can retreat and set up ambush too, since the Saiyans can't locate them without scouters.

Or was it the dragon who performed those tricks (transporting Vegito, sealing Buu...) and XXI didn't have to do anything? Like, they discussed the plan and the timing, and the dragon would just cast those spells when XXI told him to.

I'm asking this because the dragon said "Is that a request to me?" after they discussed something.

In canon DBZ, the Saiyans and Frieza found out about the dragon balls because Piccolo was talking to the dying Raditz, and that conversation was transmitted to the Saiyans and Frieza via Raditz's scouter. In this universe, that conversation never happened, so the Saiyans and Frieza don't know about the dragon balls, and therefore wouldn't target planet Namek. Gohan would grow stronger than Vegeta soon, considering how powerful Gohan was as a toddler, and the fact that this Vegeta doesn't have Goku as a motivation to get stronger.
But someone insecure and calculating like Vegeta wouldn't allow any Saiyan to be stronger than him. They may try to kill each other in the future. I don't think he has Janemba anymore. Gast didn't "kill" Janemba, he purified it. Even if XXI reabsorbed the kid that kid isn't Janemba. XXI has likely been permanently weakened from losing Janemba here, which is why he's so pissy from not being able to absorb Gast. He needed to replace that energy he lost. It's clear that XXI is multiple people, probably 21 of them given the name, but he isn't like Buu or even Cell in this regard. All of the beings that comprise XXI still exist. Losing Janemba means losing a lot of energy.

Think XXI was hoping to eat Gast to gain his abilities but since he was unable to digest him fully and only got 10%, his plan to try and use that techique to nuke Goku's strength is out(not sure if it would even work on ssj0).

Also considering Nappa almost got Frieza disqualified by trying to get him to attack him after he forfeited.. Could see him getting disqualified...

Yeah, I had the same thought. If XXI, like Buu, can gain the special powers / abilities of the people he consumed, then surely XXI would gain some OP magic after consuming Gast, especially the magic that Gast used to subdue Vegito and capture Zen Buu earlier.

If XXI is going to consume the multiverse, then he will have to fight powerful beings like Vegito and Buu. And unlike in the tournament where he can take advantage of the 30-sec rule to "win" against them, he will have to fight them to the death. So having access to Gast's magic would be useful in a fight against Vegito and/or Zen Buu.

Beerus and Whis made a cameo appearance on page 1164, I wonder how XXI would deal with those two if he plans to consume their universe, although they likely will never appear again in DBM. 1 Respuesta(s)
