1. Reveal that there is a set of dragon balls active on Earth.
2. Piccolo is in fact, not capable of escaping being stoned, and the only way he was revived was by using the dragon balls.

Whether we like it or not, Goku has had a variety of opportunities that don't allow for an accurate direct comparison to say who is the better natural talent. I like Goku's grin, I'm confused by his finger thing, and I'm extremely confused by Vegeta's move.

What is he even doing? Why is the blast showing up from below? It looked weird last page cause he suddenly started flying, but now is completely nonsensical unless he has a reason to do this. Checking last page it kinda LOOKS like he was accumulating power below him and now he's using it? Even if they don't seem to expose a lot of their energy there's no reason for a ki blast to not be sensed, visible or not. But let's ignore that since DB also does those BS... If that's it, it's a cool idea, if it actually surprises Goku. If he's just gonna flex it away with a finger either Vegeta is completely outmatched or that blast is just crappy and then what even was the point of doing it like this?

I guess next page will be more clear? Maybe? For now this page is confusing af. lol

Usually when they struggle against a ball of ki with their palms, it's because the ball of ki is far stronger than they are.
Being able to ain't too weird, he probably is able with one. Actually doing it is pretty weird for him though. Goku has rarely been one to flex like that, and this seems like a weird moment to start.

It's also pretty weird considering the previous pose. That's the pose of someone ready to extend both hands to stop something, yet he goes out of his way to do that with just the fingers? Why would he do that?

It's probably cause he's not just stopping it, he's probably splitting it, or making it explode like a baloon, or something weird like that. I'm hoping. Would be pretty ooc if he really was just flexing lol

The perspective is kind of weird.

This chapter is going to raise a lot of questions about the canon, so I'm going to be precise about it.
So here's what's canon and what isn't in relation to Bardock Tales Kai:
First of all, everything in the 42 volumes and the paper version of DBS (not animated dbs or dbz) is canon.

The Dragon Ball movies (not Z) haven't arrived.

— The DBZ films have not arrived, with the exception of Fukkatsu no F and DBS Broly.
As the events of DBS Super Super Heroes are identical to those of the paper version, the film is canon.


Film 5 (Coola's Revenge) has arrived, with some minor differences (explained later).

Film 3 (Thales) probably arrived in a parallel universe (like all the films and spin-offs) but in the BTK canon universe, Thales never arrived on Earth but existed.

Movie 9 (Bojack) happened.

The Baddack TV movie didn't happen, but similar events took place.

The TV movie about Trunks didn't happen, the manga version prevails.

The Tarble movie has arrived.

The TV movie about Baddack going back in time didn't happen.

The DBGT series and the TV movie 100 years later have not arrived, but are part of another universe.

The Jaco manga has arrived, as has the Dragon Ball Minus chapter.

The Battle of Gods films didn't make it (the manga version takes precedence), but Freezer's Resurrection did (because there's no official manga).

The "Dragon Ball Super" series has arrived.

Toriyama interviews, official guides and video games are not canon in BTK.

DbH and SDBH don't interact with BTK, but since time patroll is the multiverse police, they do exist.

The one at the end of GT, during the Goku Jr. vs Vegeta Jr. fight also seemed like a descendant of the original commentator, so my guess is that Salagir and the team kept the "joke" running so to speak and this is a very distant descendant of him (he has a name I think, but I can't remember what it is and I sure as hell ain't checking it xD)
Plus this is totally in line with Toriyama humour, having like 10 generations of dudes all be WT/martial arts commentators.

I think that Bra will surprise him by requesting a fair fight. No magic and no tricks, just skill vs skill. So all of this strategy will go out the window since he will see a change in Bra. I think ultimately this battle will lead to Bra being instructed by Gast during the battle on controlling her powers to be used for good since he'll sense that her heart is changed, now humble and wanting to make things right.

On the surface, it looks like these two are going to go all out fighting with Bra having the edge. But Bra is badly shaken by what she's gone through and emotionally vulnerable right now. I don't think she's going to be fighting anywhere near her best. It doesn't look like Gast realizes that right now but he's wise and will pick it up eventually. It feels like a moment of dialogue and character growth is being set up between these two.

He can't just be bulking up, that might make him even slower. Perhaps he is charging ki?
