I didn't expect them to both survive, I guess there's a non-zero chance that XXI still has the Kaioshin and Hopocus as warriors in the present time. At least the former could screw with the heads of the U1 Kaioshin.

It's remarkable what a detailed explanation of the facts does to a situation.

Call me easily swayed, I can accept it, but this version of the Grand Kaioshin's accusation makes it much easier to accept why he's ultimately in the wrong for letting Buu do as he pleased, not that I'll ever be upset about how good a story came out of it, but it's undeniable that for the characters at that moment they felt the way they did.

I think Uub's thoughts on Buu are interesting, they are probably similar to how the Grand Supreme Kai will describe him after the next fight, during Buu's second attempt at a take over. And I honestly agree with them in some ways, it kinda goes back to that "no consequences" mindset that comes with the Dragon Balls, that since it can all be fixed afterwards then there's really not much risk involved (ignoring the emotional aspect of it).

Thinking about it... Gohan says there's no relation between strength and gravity, but didn't Vegetto screw with the gravity when he went to level 3?

It's a real shame Buu won't stick around to see Goku VS Vegeta... or even Gast VS XXI for that matter. What an incredible showing for Vegeta, cannot express how much I love the fights in this story.

They're probably gonna connect it to Buu, it would be interesting to see Gast's version of events. And I am hoping we also get to see U7 Vegeta again, he'd probably be a good Majin "Slave" for Babidi.

Assuming that was South Za Warudo-ing, I'm actually curious if XXI would be able to "enter his stopped time" like how Jotaro did. With #17 and #18 being immune and also made stronger (maybe?) would all three of them together hold a candle to South? Anything could happen.

Love how the lack of action by Universe 8 is what ticks them off that something is up. As for who Gast is referring to as suspicious or preparing something... can it really only be U19? U18's still missing Uub, they could be debating on asking to wish him back to the arena or something similar.

Since we have 1 hour before the next page releases I get to put out some last high level copium and say that even though XXI was called the winner of the tournament, imagine a world where that phrasing is deliberately made to mislead readers into getting salty at the situation... Imagine that Goku gets up without healing (XXI missed his vital organs) and since no one's touched the ring (that we could see in this page), there's no reason for the match not to continue. Frankly it's just brilliant misdirection and we'll all laugh about it in an hour (good thing no one's gonna read this before then).

I've read and even commented through the entire Bra thread at the time without acting out so I'll be objective about this as much as I was with that. (Honestly not sure if it's worth writing this out since a lot of people don't like reading long comments but I'd still like to say my piece)

First up is that expecting a traditional fight from these 2 was already a dream. I was looking forward to a gimmicky fight akin to Goku VS Freeza at least and Gast VS Janemba at most. Remember XXI's only fight that wasn't an insta-win was the only one that was fought by someone else, which was a rarity in and of itself.

However, ending things here in this way would be disappointing without question. No matter how you spin it, the only possible reason one could end it in this manner is for "shock value" but tbh there's really no shock to be gained from XXI anymore. XXI's shock value was used up when beating Vegetto in round 2, after that it was the mystery of XXI's many wins that kept people invested in this character. But by this point the mystery was explained and the Gast VS Janemba fight set a level of expectation for XXI that can definitely produce a better fight that what we're currently seeing.

That being said, the last thing I wanna write is that while I don't have much hope for there to still be an interesting fight between these two in the tournament (they did announce the end of the fight already), that's not to say the story is over. I started reading because of the tournament setting yes, but as the Babidi arc showed the tournament isn't the only way for us to get interesting fights. So even if this one might've left you upset do keep on hope that the following ones will make up for it.

You know, we've all had a lot of theories as to what happened and how, but we didn't really talk much about if and how Goku's gonna keep on fighting.

Personally I believe that hole through his chest simply missed all his vital organs, and allowed Goku to transform into his injured state. It's a bit of a niche transformation but it's yielded good results against Piccolo and Vegeta before, so it has a good track record!

Hmmm, if I had to guess. Special Beam Cannon Full Nelson combo move?

I'm basing this off the cover page and the "initial idea" that was turned into a mini-comic. Thought I'm not sure of the exact method I think it has something to do with Goku reliving his first death by Piccolo when they fought against Raditz.

I am curious about this. A lot of people in the comments (and the actual characters as well I guess) think this would be simple to break out of, but powering up to the point of shattering dimensions in less than 0.08 seconds (thanks Trunks) still seems like a hell of a feat. Honestly if I see Goku do it next page, I can just accept it since he and many others are just that good, but I'll still think it's impressive.

(Seriously, this is a broken ability that would knock out at least 80% of all the fighters in the tournament, even more if they didn't expect it, I wonder why XXI didn't use this against #18 as well, seeing as the remote just drew un-needed attention to him. 0ne of the most busted things I've ever seen in Dragon Ball related media fr)

Considering the prototype of this fight they showed in the minicomics, I'm expecting their own redraws of classic Goku fights until Perfect Cell where Goku gives up... But that's just what I expect to see, my hope is that those expectations are exceeded! Pumped for the finale of my favorite tournament arc, that despite it's numerous interruptions has still kept going!

A bit more violent, but in my opinion more understandable response from Pan's side instead of just cowering. She's a child yes... but also a fighter after all, showing anger alongside the fear helps sell it better. (I can believe the "real classy" line coming from this one)

Hum, I'm actually curious how South Kaioshin views an entity such as Raichi. Calling him a being of Justice isn't incorrect per se (more vengeance in my opinion), but at the same time has he "descended into evil and chaos" as the voice in South's head puts it? He honestly didn't change much from before and after coming to the tournament, he hated Saiyans and still does. Except now he knows Saiyans exist in other universes, meaning as a specter of hate he won't be able to rest...ever... (dark).

Tbh I can see the South Kaioshin thing being true but also can see there being some "but actually" scenarios. Maybe South only beat them up into unconsciousness, yes there's a lot of blood but it doesn't necessarily mean death, and I wanna believe bro wouldn't at least kill another Kaioshin (man even to me this sounds like coping xd).

Regardless, I'm starting to wonder what XXI's actual skillset is. He can "eat" matter and energy yes, but he's also teleporting into other apartments, made that remote viewing window into the U10 apartment, made whatever Vegito ate... can't tell which of those are his own skills and which were given by the dragon

Wow... Seeing it all summed up again really makes me remember that that arc... Had a really stupid ending... Not that the ending was the only thing, but feels like the more that arc kept going the worse it got, I wanna say that up until the first travel they made to the future it was very good but after that it just... steadily kept screwing itself.

I say this because if XXI's smoke can block energy sensing and teleportation it'd feel very silly if it couldn't also block out sound.

You know what, whatever bs power he has and that they refuse to tell us about, Imma give XXI a pass on this one. Janemba is one of the most visually interesting villains in the entire franchise both in design and attacks, this fight could be fire.

Ngl, easy way to win against Gast? Split him up. Grant his wish. XXI has been able to perform decently impressive and specific feats in the tournament so far when it comes to magic, I think splitting up Namekian Fusions can't be that high up in the scale since supposedly a wish dragon can make it happen and we've seen U4's Buu use magic of the same caliber as the dragons. Since XXI's "smoke buddy" can do things like tell him the magic formula for sealing Buu away and manifest the exact remote controller to shut down 17 & 18, it wouldn't be a stretch to say he could teach him how to undo fusions.

This is the most intense casual jog I've seen since Fellowship of the Ring...

Imma be honest, opinions on this may vary, but I do enjoy this sort of fight, where it's in one of the combatants prespectives and they try to strategize what their opponent will do.

What I meant was more along the lines of what Babidi and Buu tried to do, throw the tournament off track, not necessarily that he wasn't an antagonist. XXI is more likely to follow the rules until he either wins or loses. Were he to win I have no idea what he'd wish for, mostly because however his abilities work they seem to be pseudo-omniscient and pseudo-omnipotent (pseudo-omnipersent, because he can ask his "other self" any question and recieve an accurate answer, the pseudo-omnipotency is from how he executes his winning strategies, Vegetto and Buu could be a natural affinity to magic but the remote for 18 is completely different, almost like he created it after being told that was the best way to win). Being this powerful already and still having a wish is unheard of, and I doubt he's in it for the fights like most other people. If he were to lose then yeah, he'd probably raise a fuss. 1 Replie(s)

Realistically, there is very little chance any more problems arise from the universes. Raichi left, Buu was sent back and everyone else that could be problematic isn't capable of much in the power scale. So it's really impressive that Cell can accurately guess that something is going to happen xd

EDIT: Forgot about XXI, but to be honest he won't really cause problems. The tournament has been on the risk of going off the rails twice already with Babidi's attempt being the closest we've gotten to game over and he hasn't done shit. Kind of a fan theory on what'll happen next so feel free to ignore.

What if what happens here is that Piccolo stays trapped in the Time Chamber and gets stronger there (and older)? Eventually he escapes while not as much time has passed outside, he'd cause havoc on the mortal world and eventually Master Mutaito would seal him. Could explain why he's incredibly old when he shows up in DragonBall despite having been sealed (unless you still age while being sealed? We don't really get much insight into that). Also the idea that a still Young Kami could confront an older Piccolo, who's stronger than him, is interesting to me.

Huh actually... this being a different dimension and all that, will the Buu in here still get teleported back to his own universe...?
