I think its meant to feel this way. Vegito is a narcisist above all!
Everything he does is for himself! Even saving planets is an ego stroke for him.
In addition, he can never take accountability for anything, so of course,
even when he loses, he doesnt own it and humble himself, he acts like a baby!
Think something like Homelander from "The Boys" but way less crazy and unstable.

Its not bad writting at all. U16 and mostly Vegito is meant as a dark mirror to U18's Goku and Vegeta,
and that's exactly why Vegito will soon be possesed and later fight and lose to Gogeta.

I think you are missing the mark here.. People are reacting when a plot point established waaay earlier is not resolved in a satisfying way, and rightfully so.
Im sure you know what a chekhov's gun is. When you show a "gun" it should be used in a meaningful way by the end. In this case it was established that the elder Kai was putting
some kind of mind barriers to Raditz in order to suppress his violent tendencies or maybe even control him in some way at the least. So seeing the result being a wasted character who just fought Vegeta and *had no impact in the story is not a nice conclusion to this subplot!* Just saying that DBM has no point and you do what you want is garbage! Of course you can do whatever you want, but you cant build expectations for a plotline, not resolve it in a meaningful way, and then also expect your readers to not react! You just cant have your cake and eat it too. Its the same as Game of Thrones! Of course the directors could do whatever they liked in the end but forgetting about plotlines and not delivering what they themselves put in front of the viewers expectations resulted in a bad outcome.

I really dont care about things like the Potara being undone, this by itself works but the lack of meaning is really annoying, especially when the readers know you can write a good story.
There are many ways this plotline could have the same conclusion with the whole unfusing *AND served the overall story!*
He's an immortal Saiyan with +ssj3 power for a base! You can do so much with him!

I guess the mystic power up is still an option but I can't see it happening considering the time required..
and Salagir would probably make them still weaker than Sayians so...
