Yes, both iterations of fat buu are certainly weaker than superbuu but if you're referring to the original fat buu vs good buu (mr buu) I don't think there's all that much difference. Yes, Mr. Buu is weaker than the original fat but he can't be by much given the fight between kid buu and Mr buu. He fought kid buu for quite awhile and while he ultimately lost, it was still a relatively close fight unlike the humiliating performance of vegeta who was legitimately "a lot" weaker.
And yes, kid buu is a good reference to the original fat buu as they were essentially the same in strength given goku's fights.
There's definitely a big difference. Let me explain.
Fat Buu (the one we see fight Majin Vegeta) is a combination of the Kai powers and Kid Buu. In this form, he IS Super Buu, just influenced by the good of the kais. His actual power is the same as Super Buu. It just isn't always being used -- he's like the opposite of Kid Buu, who has less actual power than the other Buus but is going 100% all the time. We see this in Fat Buu when he gets mad, and all the characters always comment on him drawing from a sudden endless well of power. He's drawing on his Super Buu power then. The only difference between Fat Buu and Super Buu is which side of him is in the pilot seat.
So Fat Buu = Super Buu, but being lazy. This means that the Z fighters would have probably still lost against him in the end if they got him mad enough (even Goku and Gotenks).
At best, Mr. Buu is half of that, if we say Kid Buu and him are equal.
So Mr. Buu and Kid Buu are nowhere near Fat Buu.

1.Mr Buu isn't equal to Kid Buu. Kid Buu dominated Mr Buu and the only reason he was surviving that long was not only due to regen, but because Kid Buu was playing around. I don't know what backwater fight you were watching, but in canon, Mr Buu was no where close to Kid Buu in power.
2. Goku said that he could have beaten Fat Buu, and he was only pretending to be weaker
3. Kid Buu is superior to Fat Buu.

It seems like the fans here are so into this special that they are trying to make the comment section look the Earth on this page.
Personally, I don't like Broly in DBM. Always rising power... Broly being SSJ3 level+ was just meh to me. Plus, he is just meh as a character. You could replace him with almost anything, and you would not lose anything. Super Broly is a little bit BS still, but at least he has character.
Anyways, I find Bra and her BS more interesting than Broly and his BS. If we had "a who is the biggest a-hole" contest between Bra and Broly, who would win? I am hoping that Broly would win, but I think Bra will end up taking the victory over Broly.

Lol what character? For the majority of the movie, he's either mute, talks briefly, and throughout his entire fight he rampages on like a wild beast.
The only diff is that dbs broly doesn't have a terrible backstory. Otherwise, this so called version of broly with depth, lots of character or personality doesn't exist in DBS

Besides Vegeta already beat Goku twice in canon (not in the way vegeta wanted to though in their 2nd fight)
Because Goku was holding SS3 back, that doesn't count.
Actually, it counts. Let's not mention that back then, SS3 was non-existent. So when everybody watched, they saw Vegeta defeating Kakarrot.
