I don't think the tears are meant to trigger sympathy in the readers, as much as convey the difference between now and that time when she killed Goten;

You can see that she now understands the gravity of what she has done and is likely feeling like shit for killing her brother - which she mention by name - but even more likely of been considered not redeemable, with all the implications for it - such as being judged by her close circle as a monster, death at the hands of Vegetto and going straight to hell, where you lose your body (no more fighting or training for you) for as long as you remain there.

From her point of view, she went to take a nap after getting humiliated by Ginue riding her body and being remembered of the strength gap between her and Vegetto, only to have her "good side" sealed away by Babidi. When she finally came to her senses, she had slaughtered the entirety of people left at the tournament except for what seems like one single person. With her memories of what she has done, as well as the cruelty she displayed, she now is probably waiting her punishment, accepting it yet still terrified.

In short, it must be Bra's worst nightmare day.

Pretty sure Goku will stop Vegetto from killing her, and Vegeta shouldn't be too mad - since he went through that shit himself and it was his own daughter who who put a stop to the rampage.

What I expect is thus the first spark of animosity between U16 and U18.

In a sense Pan is right. Why is U16 Gohan emotionally weaker? Correct me if I am wrong, but at some point Salagir said U16 Gohan trains, so he should be stronger than U18 Gohan, yet he is the first one to give up. Are Bra and Vegito really that toxic to their universe?
