There is absolutely no chance this is actually the end of the fight. The text is different, which usually implies a Bardock vision. This is clearly something else since Bardock went to get cigarettes, but changing the text is usually indicative that we’re not witnessing reality.
It’s fun to read old comments on pages because any time the tide of the fight turns the comments are flooded with people assuming the fight is over. There were people who genuinely thought Goku would lose to Frieza when he got real old in the snow dimension. I love Gotens characterization in this comic! He’s unmotivated to train or be number one, but when trouble comes along he doesn’t hesitate to throw himself in the fold, no matter the risk. Loved him in the Majin Rebellion and in the Son Bra Unbound chapter. It used to bother me that he was so weak and usually ineffective, but now I think that’s part of the charm. Wish we saw any of this actually set up in the IKL chapter I don’t think we see South Kai do or say anything in that chapter. Idk any kind of connection between these two would’ve made this payoff more meaningful. Also I wish I had a better understanding of what “IKL’s power” entails. Can South stop time now? Should I care? This chapter has been weirdly all over the place despite having a lot of plot progression. I know everyone has already said it, but pretty sad to be rid of universe 9 the second Raditz gets his potential unleashed. I felt like it was the perfect way to have plausibly overpowered versions of cast members that didn’t make it to the tournament. We only got a special and a half on universe 9 and now that they’re gone we have to wait for any more information. What confuses me is that XXI would lie to the Saiyans about Raditz’s death. He made a point to emphasize trust but now Raditz is living proof XXI didn’t “handle it”. Did XXI think they were dead? Can XXI see what’s happening in the U3 apartments in real time? I’d assume so since he could show the saiyans Raditz’s corpse.Did his parasitic power up really give everyone access to his thoughts? Did XXI just know that South would have Old Kai and Raditz expelled and his little brain smoke just got everyone else on that same page? I don't think it's going to happen, but it would be really cool if Universe 15 or something had Lord Slug or garlic Jr or somebody else and we get to see a villain try and act out of turn as soon as they get there to set an example for the rest of the villains who behave themselves uncharacteristically well for the beginning of the story. Just because we see the final lineup at the beginning of the story, doesn't mean someone couldn't have gotten booted out before the tournament had a chance to start.




I mean, that's what they are doing. This special is written and drawn by an entirely different artist. If you just ignored the uploads until the main story came back it's more or less the same thing as them not uploading at all. These specials are just a way to maintain a release of content in the months between each official chapter. Some specials are really good, but generally there side stories that are not that vital. I like the u3 sayians but you can't tell me that any of their backstory is really that vital to the u3 fighters or the narrative in general.

Universe 9 and 3 cannot be identical up to this point, because in universe 3 we see Frieza die by the hands of the saiyans but in universe 9 Frieza is killed by Cooler before the events of dragon Ball can even take place. Kakarot is alive in universe 3, but was killed in universe 9 also by Cooler.

They might just mean that the Earth has been the same up until this point, and this nitpicky detail doesn't really derail the story at all.

Buu could probably avoid this spell by hiding another piece of himself, not in the ring, but in another universe. Sure, Buu never displayed the power to travel universes before, but remember that he perfectly remade all the Vargas' technology after the Majin Rebellion as well as claiming to "control their technology" during his temper tantrum after Vegetto lost his fight.

I think being a Saiyan-based bio-andriod gives him a similarly huge potential to Goku/Vegeta. Remember that Perfect Cells power is all stolen, so in reality he hadn't trained a day in his life when the Cell Games began. This Cell has had nothing to do for the last 20 years but wipe out planets and train his body I believe Vegito said something like "We all know it's impossible he has not improved in 20 years" during Cells fight with Dabura. It's almost surprising he isn't stronger, but he hasn't had anyone in his universe push his limits like his opponents in this tournament have!

Definitely not going to happen, but it'd be hilarious if after this match all the Jr.s from the Majin war AND these four identical adult Cells we're crammed into the U17 area together.

I know it's similar, but I don't think he looks too much like Yamcha. I blame the eyes looking sort of awkward, but I blame that on most artists not expecting to draw Goten so much!

Goten's been getting a ton of love since the beginning of Majin Rebellion (He fought like hell and was the only fighter who surivied!!). On to his controversial team-up with his hot step-sister in the U16 special. And technically including his fused lecture of his suddenly abusive step-dad.

I'm glad that if Raditz has to be standing completely still in a room for the unforeseeable future, DBM is still doing what made me love it in the first place which is give unused DBZ characters more love and sprinkles of extra character.

I feel like the reading comprehension of this comment section is bottom of the barrel. I think the main misconception is that these nerds assume they know how majinizaton works in DBM. But we have seen many things in dragon Ball multiverse that functions slightly differently than in dragon Ball z. A lot of these functions are interpretive by Salgir (why Vegetto unfused in Buu, the Z sword being unusable by Kiao Shins, ECT, ECT). When Gotenks explains (in an annoyingly poorly translated line) that Vegeta was able to resist majin control because he willingly brought it on that makes sense for the characters we've seen do that. Vegeta and cell both willingly accepted the control because they wanted a power boost and because of that they didn't follow Babidy from second one. All Vegeta did under his control was say "no I don't want to do what you say I want to fight Goku". He didn't think of his family and his pride and break free, he was free the whole time. So was Cell since he said he had been secretly planning a coup the whole rebellion. I know this might not be the explanation people want, but it does make sense. Thinking of it this way it would be stupid to punish bra, since characters who are controlled against their will have less (to no) ability to break free. Are we going to punish Daborah and Ginyu when they come back to life? Why is no one in the chat complaining that frieza and cooler were not slapped on the wrist. I still really love this comic idk why everyone's gotten so much more negative (and borderline antagonistic?) in all of the comments. I know there are some weird flaws and we've been suffering from Bra-overload, but this is still on of the most entertaining, best illustrated, and most intricate pieces of DBZ content online. SS3 Vegetto looks so clean. It looks like Ghast is stepping in to save Bra, but could he really be strong enough to do that? Could anybody? Can't wait for the next page I'm so stoked to be back to the main story.

my prediction is that Zen Buu is milking this opportunity to "redeem" himself for the attack on the stadium, and from here on he wont have to be in ball form. He'll probably revive everyone as well (like minoshia in the last U4 special) to ensure a cozier spot with the organizers. Not to say anyone will ever trust him though, just let him farther off the hook.

If it were me, I'd just kill her now. Maybe with a little personal experience she'll realize being atomized is beyond painful. Maybe then, she'd actually care she killed her brother. Although considering she made a habit of it in the future, I doubt it.

I'm beyond confused by this page, I always leaned towards Bra being flawed but overall good. But ignoring the destruction, genocide, and terror she just wrought just to be glad she's finally stronger than a retired fighter who's only ever tried to be there for his little sister (and look how THAT turned out for him) it's just mind-bogglingly irredeemable. She didn't just vaporize a whole planet of people, but now every planet in the solar system is just helplessly watching a sun explode, or being actively engulfed by the sun's hellfire. Even if she doesn't remember doing it, it's happening around her! Is she blind and stupid? I know she's young, but every other db character at that age seemed to have a solid sense of right and wrong (and yes I count Vegeta because he actively chose wrong. At least HE made up his mind). I know a lot of comments site Vegetto's absence and poor parenting, but it's not like she isn't surrounded by supportive loved ones. Goku had no parents for the majority of his life, and hey look at that how many civilizations did he destroy?

If Vegetto killed her I wouldn't bat an eye. Why should I, my family, and entire planet be vaporized because Vegetto couldn't wear a capsule corp condom a decade ago? I hope we get a least a little more context for this interaction, because as it stands, Bra just looks terrible. I don't think the Bra flashback from the last chapter has anything to do with Vegetto fighting this guy, rather I think it's Bra who has a go at him and sees what we saw in the flashback. It'd make more sense as her worst fear, and the outfit she's wearing matches. Bra looked very young in the flashback, and I can't tell if the guest artists are trying to draw her that young (which is why she's been so short!!) or if it's just a stylistic choice. Either way if they are going to clarify, it won't be only a few pages into what is supposed to be a very looong special.

I'm absolutely amazed she entered the fray before Grand Surpreme Kai. Zen Buu was right about him this is a whole new level of cosmic irresponsibility.
