So this is my 1st comment on this site, but I’ve been reading Dragon Ball Multiverse off and on since 2009 because I’ve never been a fan of reading a manga and waiting chapter to chapter (or in this case page to page) for updates, so I’ve always kinda just left the story for a while and then come back to read pages/chapters in mass which I think GREATLY improves the reading experience.

Like concerning the controversial Majin Rebellion, being able to sit down and read the entire saga at your own leisure over the period of a couple days is much more palatable than reading it a page at a time over a period of ~4 years where if you get a span of 3-4 underwhelming pages back-to-back, the entire comment section just becomes a toxic cesspool. But looking at the saga in and of itself, I think it’s a good saga that had an unsatisfactory conclusion. While I understand the prospect of placing little blame on Bra (and kudos for extending that forgiveness to everyone else that was majinized), it seems a bit farfetched for everyone except Vegetto and U16 Pan to seemingly forgive her in an instant, and for Vegetto to go from just being a bad parent to a person literally about to murder his daughter in front of everyone because of how mad he is at the moment. And then for Zen Buu to just undo all the carnage and lives lost with a snap of his fingers, he basically just undid in 2 pages what was the culmination of ~4 years worth of pages, and so I can understand why people reading page by page for those ~4 years would be upset at how it was resolved and how Bra seemed to get off scot-free.

On the point of the Specials, I don’t really mind them for the most part. My main issue with them isn’t the art. Yes the art styles used generally aren’t as good as Asura’s in the main chapters, but seriously Asura is like a God Tier DBZ Artist. The real issue I would say is that a lot of the Specials don’t give us a lot of new interesting information about the universe which I feel should be the main point of them, and fights where we already know who is going to win drag on for five, six, seven, etc pages when they could be summarized in a page or two. Like fights aren’t anywhere near as interesting when we already know for a fact who wins. Again not as big a deal when you’re able to read entire chapters in bulk but I imagine it’s much more frustrating reading page by page. I think one main contributing factor to the issue of the readers not being as interested in them is because they already know how they end because they all tell you in panel 1 which universe the story takes place in. This removes a LOT of tension from the story. Imagine if you didn’t immediately know which universe a Special is taking place in as you see say Kakarot interacting with Krillin and Roshi after killing Grandpa Gohan, and you’re not exactly sure if this is the universe where the Saiyan Survivors dominate, or maybe it’s the universe where the Humans dominate, or hell maybe it’s the universe where the Heliorians dominate. I think that would’ve been more interesting than knowing from page one “this is the universe where the Saiyan Survivors dominate.”

On the point of Mystic Radditz, I have a bit of mixed feelings. On one hand in a vacuum I feel like Radditz as a brother of Goku could have good potential to benefit from this potential unlocking and become very strong. On the other hand, based on what we’ve actually seen in the story, it seems like Radditz hasn’t shown very much potential at all. Vegeta and Kakarot have both unlocked SSJ1 and SSJ2, and Vegeta is even at SSJ3, but Radditz only seems to just above Freeza/Cooler elite henchmen level after like 30years hanging out with Vegeta and Kakarot. But now Radditz is going to beMystic and somehow be able to compete with SSJ3 Vegeta I’m guessing. I just wish there had been a statement said by Vegeta at some point to the effect of commanding Radditz to focus on being the strategic mind of the unit instead of focusing on training after seeing how much potential Kakarot has and being anxious of Radditz accomplishing the same thing being siblings with Kakarot, which would explain how Mystic Radditz is going to be able to compete with SSJ3Vegeta even though right now he seems to be fodder after 30 years.

I must really give credit to the most recent XXI reveal page though as to see XXI’s new form and the smoke appearing around the end of the screen really felt like an “oh shit” moment for me.  Like we’ve seen other not-so-serious characters break the 4th wall in a jokey way, but it felt like XXI was breaking the 4th wall in a completely serious way which gave it a feeling of trepidation which you just don’t get to see very often. Like I heard Tony’s Stark voice in my head say “We’re in the Endgame now,” and it was just a great feeling.

All in all, I would like to thank the entire DBM team for the hard work they have done working on this project for over a decade. It is truly amazing and I look forward to what happens next. 2 Risposta/e
