This is a post of legitimate critism with Dragonball Multiverse, this isn't to offend:

I do understand you're trying to for another "alternative" feel with these character designs for new characters, but this honestly looks like Dragonball crossed over with a Western Comicbook franchise. The new characters being compared to the hypothetical comic book, of course. Not that this art is bad, I actually like the art; as always, props to Asura.

Needless to say, if you're trying to expand the lore of your fan DRAGONBALL story, I would ask you atleast try to stick to basic fundamentals Dragonball is known for. Character designs should atleast resemble Toiryama's artstyle for the sake of visual consistency, because it's supposed to be the same fictional universe afterall. Concepts shouldnt be bound by the Universe's limitations, but it should definitely resemble and be written around such limitations; afterall, there are no 'trademark' Toryiama plot ideas, only trademark concepts for the system in which characters define their actions (ki control, flying, powerlevels, and even then, he is known to like to break free). In such a case of ignoring how exactly this fictional universe works visually, thematically, and systemically, you fail in creating the set of conditions to which said universe is recognizeable.

One could argue that Toryiama even broke this himself with the stark differences in artstyle, themes, and functionality of the universe. However, in the end, it is still recognizeable as 'Dragonball' through and through even if a lot of us have gripes with the things that DID change. It shouldn't be any surprise then, that I would be complaining about this here aswell. It's jarring to see the universe shift so drastically in a 4th wall kind of way from one part of the Universe to another. I end this asking that you, Salagir, ground your writing and art in more Dragonball, or this ends up ceasing to be recognizably Dragonball entirely. I do understand that you might want to stretch your creative muscles after years of one series, but this is why people create their own works that are inspired by others' work in the first place.

One last thing of note, the argument of "this is a fan product" does not make what I said any less valid. Fans can always have their own take on a franchise, but most high quality fan projects do not just interject clashing elements and expect them to mesh well. You HAVE to follow the source material, or why even be a fan creating a fan project of a recognizeable series to begin with? You have to think about your viewers and not just what you think might be cool, there is a reason why fanfiction has such a dubious and infamous track record. 1 Réponse(s)

I don't know if it's the translation or what, but Gohan definitely knows Babidi isn't the strongest. He would say something like "Babidi... Won." Gohan is about to dying, sure, but it feels out of character.
