It was painful yes. I can tell you that most pages Cell is in, 50% of the time spent was for the spots.
I even tried to create a brush, and make it more automatically, but the results weren't satisfying for me. So I drew and inked every spot you see (aside from some specific pages were I could copy and paste some areas)

So, here we are again with a new chapter!

Some of you already noticed that I love drop references and Easter Eggs on my drawings (the cover page is full of them) but this one I particularly asked Salagir if we could change the last panel to be exactly like this one scene:

Hello there!
Hope you're enjoying this chapter so far!

So, some notes I would like to add on this Perfect Cell design:

— I really like the original DBZ design, there's literally nothing I would change to him, but as you already mentioned, this one doesn't have Frost Demon's DNA so he needed to atleast look different.

— I tried to maintain his main features, because he is indeed is own being, so that I didn't change, his head, the wings, his anatomy (mainly), the spots, and so on.

— I removed the glass like shiny parts in his head, torso and legs, and instead it's an armoured type carcass let's say. The orange parts is to resemble the namekian pink muscles. He doesn't have any white skin, because that's clearly from the Frost Demons, and so he his all green. You don't see on this image, but he still has his long tail (I like him more with a long tail, it has nothing to do with absorption, just an artistic option)

— and finally, before you mention, this design and color scheme was decided waaaay before Dragon Ball Super Hero movie was even a thing

That's basically all, hope you like the final outcome me and Salagir came up with!

Hello there!

Here we are, once again, with the follow up from the last Special!
In the first one, we focused more on world building, story telling and timeline placement of the events. Now, it is time for our heros to get into action!

As I previously said, it's an honour to be a part of this project and I hope you enjoy the next few pages as much as I did drawing them! I'm really proud on what me and Salagir achieved with this one, and as the story progresses you will notice that the drawings also improve and some of them I consider my finest work Dragon Ball wise. It's also 1 year anniversary month since the passing of Akira Toriyama so I do hope to honour his work with my efforts to give you the best quality I can!

I'll be around again, to have all of your feedback and try to communicate a bit more!

I see that some readers (on this, and other languages comment sections) are mainly debating 2 topics:

1- what is the secret lie that Thorn found out? As you can see on this page, on literally Bulma's first sentence she says Thorn sees they are the good guys after all, implying that they already had a conversation and everything is clarified on both sides. It is a storytelling option so that us, the readers, do not know just now what was it all about, so we'll have to wait until it's time for that to be explained

2- Bulma laughing on the last panel is out of character? I think not, actually I can perfectly see Bulma acting like this dispite the setting being more or less "depressing" because it's part of her personality.
Also, we've seen in the manga and anime some times where the characters are acting funny even in dark situations , coming to mind for example Vegeta and Goku discussing on the Kai's planet just after Kid Buu killing all of their relatives (sons, wives and friends) where we can see they have exaggerated big heads and funny faces.
So in my opinion, it's pretty DragonBall and Toriyama like to add some of these shots to the scene to relieve some tension. 1 Respuesta(s)

I understand what you say, and it really is a thing to always have in mind while drawing this chapter is to be coherent with the characters scale, and I did try to respect that, but in my defense, I designed this 2 androids kind of tall to be easier to choreograph the fight with Gast.
The women is around 1.90/1.95m and the guy is about 2.00/2.05m.

By the way, I really like the engagement you guys are having with this special, with all those theories, it is in fact a story with lot of possible outcomes and I'm grateful that you're not finding it boring and on my side, I gave my best to keep the artstyle enjoyable as the story progresses! 1 Respuesta(s)

It kinda was intentional for the first two Androids to appear to be a slim figure and a bigger one, to mess a bit with you and to keep the theories alive for a few days!

Like I previously said, it was amazing drawing this universe story and I do hope you like it just as I did!

Hello everyone!

So it starts, my journey here in DBMULTIVERSE.

Let me introduce to you, I am Bunga, and I'm a Designer from Portugal.
I share the same love for Dragon Ball as much as any one of you, and since child that I always liked to draw DB characters, so consider me as just an hobbyist artist, so I don't have any artist page online ( I do have a really OLD DeviantArt page by the name of BungaCadabra, you can check it, but there is nothing there to make me proud of).

As for DBM, I've been following this amazing fanfic for a very, very long time ( I remember when I started to read this, it was around the Cell Vs Dabura fight).
Finally I decided to try and make myself part of the project and thanks to Salagir, here I am, with this Gast Carcolh Special Chapter!
There are plenty of references from the OG Dragon Ball, the playstation games, the anime, and so on, let's see if you can find them all !

I really hope you enjoy this next few weeks as much as I did drawing this, and I also hope to make it worthwhile and make every DBM fan proud of this work!

My guess is, maybe some kind of ancient Namekian, that inprisioned or fused (I don't know) with some version of Shenron or Porunga, or even maybe his own version of Shen Long, and that's why my guess is that this warrior is a Namekian.

My clues for that:
1- on page 993, 2 pairs of eyes, are individually talking to each other. below the eyes that say "is that a question for me?" there seems to be a glowing aura, much similar to the ones the dragon balls cast when summoned
2- when XXI is "revealed" to everyone (on page 1983) you can see those same pairs of glowing eyes.

Just a theory, but I'm pretty hyped for this big reveal !
