and he did leave some of the z fighters around, who were stronger than a good deal of the universe. I don't think tien was absorbed, who by that point was above the ginyus at least.

Vegetto is right. Raw power can overcome all dirty tricks- you just have to be a thousand times stronger. If that doesn’t work, try ten thousand. If not that, try a million. If he was one million times stronger than Xxi, he could have escaped that dimension within 30 seconds with superior speed and power. If he was one million times stronger, he could have found and destroyed Babidi the moment he noticed something was wrong, before he was teleported, or he could have released enough energy to be sensed by the kais across the universe so they could find and return him.

Supreme power is supreme, but the problem is that Vegito underestimates how much power he needs to be supreme. Buu and Xxi and Gast may be ten or one hundred or one thousand times weaker than Vegito respectively, but that’s not enough for Vegito to win when they have their power AND their cheat magic.

This is the very first time I've ever commented here. I've been reading for years. I have accepted everything so far. The Majin Bra episodes. The Broly BS. The non fight between Cell and Vegita. I've accepted that Gast is OP and can pull a magic anti Saiyan spell.

This is going overboard. You're telling me that Omni Buu, who pretty much can do anything he wants and split himself into multiple parts at any given time, absorb anybody and everybody he wants, reform himself an infinite amount of times, has absorbed everyone that had any bit of power and/or magic in his universe, has the power of the most powerful beings in existence, and nearly infinite wisdom...

You're telling me that he got one shot by some antique wizard who is now a cloud of smoke? He didn't split himself into two just in case or discover a way to block that spell?

Ngl it kind of feels out of character for Vegeta to rely on tricks. Ever since his epiphany at the end of Z he seemed to fight to genuinely improve his abilities instead of just beat the opponent

This is the second time Vegeta has said Goku. Both times were when he was specifically talking about Goku’s relation with members of his earth family. Maybe during those instances he’s showing respect for what they call him because he’s recognizing their own strengths and accomplishments. To Vegeta, he’s Kakarotto, but to Gohan, he’s Goku. So when Vegeta’s speaking for Gohan in a way, he uses Goku.

So I am a tad lost now with the different universes. Is this supposed to be the "main universe" Goku and Uub?

There are going to be people on this page complaining about Uub's power up being an ass pull again... when this has been foreshadowed for several hundred pages and several DOZEN chapters. There is also a clear set of reasons why characters like Uub, Goku, and Gotenks were removed from the situation during the Babidi fiasco — and this is one of them. Their power to this point has been unknown and, at times, magical.

To remind the "asspull crowd" why this is not an asspull, let's look at some things. Why was Gohan left behind and why were the others removed from the arena?

Gohan was not a threat to Babidi because he does not consider Gohan a fighter and in his timeline Gohan probably wasn't much of one. Even when he shook with rage, Babidi understood that Bra (who WAS a fighter) shared the same inherent potential, with more exploitable habits.

Why remove the fighters who were removed?

Royal Vegeta... is a Super Saiyan 3. He has more than enough power, even without control, to confront a character like Fat Buu and destroy him utterly. We saw him shred through multiple Super Saiyan level opponents with about the same ease as Bra. Unlike Gohan, Royal Vegeta seems to train a decent amount and is almost 100% vastly superior to a character like Cell... who was pretty even with Gohan.

Canon Vegeta is canon Vegeta. Even if Bra is stronger than he is, Babidi knows he cannot be controlled and is a massive threat. He would rather not take his chances with any Vegetas, as he said himself earlier in the tournament.

Vegito is definitely stronger than Bra, and Babidi does not want to deal with that until he has to. Possibly never, if he can help it. Get the dragonballs, then worry about Vegito.

Goku is Goku. Babidi knows that Goku is powerful, and has obviously dealt with a Goku of his own. Never count Goku out. He will always find some way to fight back, until the bitter end. That's the protagonist in him. He removes Goku because Goku is almost undoubtedly stronger than Kakarot, who Babidi knows is weaker than Royal Vegeta.

With the obvious ones out of the way, we look at the less obvious choices — and finally get to the point of why Uub's power is not an asspull.

Gotenks gets removed because he is demonstrably capable of SSJ3. He is about on the same "threat level" as Royal Vegeta. Having two of Gotenks around to support Gohan, Vegeta, and Goku would be a nightmare to deal with. Having those two fusions around is just too annoying when he has to micromanage a battlefield and already knows that some characters may resist him (like Cell ends up doing). He needs to keep the field stacked in the favor of his trump card, Bra.

Finally, we have come to Uub.

Uub is Goku's student. He is an absolute unknown... beyond the fact that he is possibly magical (to an unknown degree), at least as strong as Fat Buu with a "well kept Kaioken" of unknown level. We know that Kaioken, when used beyond its base level, is clearly stated. Uub proves himself Fat Buu's equal with a basic Kaioken, and were he willing to go further, could have possibly destroyed him at the cost of his own body. We, the viewer, know that Uub is willing to do this (he sacrifices himself to knock Broly off balance at an age younger than what we see here). The reason Babidi removes Uub is because he, like us, does not have a proper frame of reference for what Uub is capable of. We see a younger Uub use "Maximum Kaioken" in earlier pages to disrupt an otherwise unstoppable Broly... and we cannot assume he has gotten no stronger since then.

Uub, at his peak power several years before the start of the tournament, has demonstrated a willingness and capacity to exceed his own limits... and the reason this is relevant is because he is Goku's successor. It would make zero sense for Salagir to make Uub weaker than Goku forever. People who think this form is an asspull are ignoring the fact that Uub has been training nonstop with the strongest man in his universe since he was a child. Every time we see Uub on the page, he has been pushing his limits or trying to exceed them. This power is not unexpected and it is not new to us, the viewer, even if it is new to Goku.

This is no more an "ass pull" than Gohan's rage boosts were. It has been foreshadowed for as long as we've seen Uub. His arc is that he will one day surpass Goku, and whether that day is today or not, we know that it is something he has worked for. It's unfair of any reader to assume that Uub has not worked for this form... or otherwise been granted the inspiration for it several hundred pages ago, when he was visited by Zen Buu, who has all of Goku's knowledge in his head.

The student is trying his best to surpass the master.

Don't discredit that.

People complaining about the possibility of the student surpassing the master here is confusing to me. If Uub wins, that's... exactly what Goku himself would want. Having someone defeat him only makes him more excited to fight that person, and Uub learning new techniques from a multiversal tournament is probably part of the reason Goku brought him along in the first place. What is this tournament for their universe other than a safe chance for growth?

If Uub does manage to win this, it would also follow a trend set by Salagir earlier on in the narrative — Vegito lost to his opponent too, despite being the favorite to win the whole thing... but Bra goes onward, as the inheritor of her father's mantle whether he approves of her or not. If Uub wins here, that sets us up for a chance at seeing something magnificent: a healthier Bra who could find a healthy rival in Uub, who has inherited his master's countenance.

Goku/Vegeta and Vegito are meant to contrast each other narratively here. Goku and Vegeta are healthy mentors to their kids and students. They are more aware of what those students want, and what those students can handle.

The issue with fusion is that it follows a Shonen philosophy that we've seen in other media before: power does not make you better, it amplifies who you already are. Vegito is massively more powerful than Goku and Vegeta, but his amplified power brings with it the amplification of their flaws. Restlessness, irritability, obsession... things that were honed out over a decade of peace have only had time to grow within him.

He passed those traits onto his student, Bra, and we saw how that turned out. There's a reason a lot of readers don't like Bra — she isn't meant to start out likeable and what happened to her isn't meant to make her immediately liked.

Instead, we're supposed to see her failings as an extension of Vegito's failings... and realize that, yes, Bra is sort of a terrible person... but she's a terrible person who would not be so terrible without her father bearing down on her. Without his influence, she would be, quite literally, a different person... and maybe learning that he isn't the end-all-be-all of power is enough to help her overcome that and work toward a better personhood in her own universe.

I need some one to explain this crystal after image technique. Where did it come from? How does it work? Who did it first? Is this a multiverse original concept?

I wonder if all the comments about how Goku was clearly winning last page (even while getting punched in the face- but I digress) will feel silly? Anyhow, time for Piccolo to look like a big idiot again when the we get a reveal of whatever page 1835 was about. Maybe Uub will say he didn't want to try this in a fight without practicing first, then we'll get "MAIJIN KaioKen!" or healing magic.

Hopefully after ~20 years Goku has something more to offer than SSJ3, but what way will DBM go? Super Saijin Purplish Golden God Super Saijin 4.1 Extreme Mode?

Look closer, he dodged it. And yes Goku may have taken a solid punch to the face there, but Uub is, supposedly, at least until now, going all out and Goku seems unfazed, he tanked it like a champ. On the other hand, Uub is out of balance on his dodge in the last panel, indicating he's struggling to keep up the pace of speed. Now maybe he is either a bit outclassed, or he's just winded because of the Kaioken, that remains to be seen.

Max Kaioken UUB is around fat magin buu level. If anything, ssj2 goku should have been enough to handle uub. ssj3 is overkill. Plus UUB isnt even done training with goku yet.

Goku should defeat UUB with light-difficulty.
