With a mischievous grin, 18 corrected him.

“Was! Because, if you hadn't noticed it yet, that old man is as good as dead!”

The outburst of anger that seized the child generated an impressive explosion of Ki that made the two cyborgs bend. 17 commented on it with enthusiasm.

“Yeah! Not bad at all for a kid.” Right before he threw himself on the young Super Saiyan. “Let's see how he fights!”

Enraged by anger and sorrow, it was with conviction that Son Gohan went against the charge of his grand-father's executioner.

The shock was violent, loud, commensurate with the two forces that went against each other. The exchange of blows that came next was astonishing so much it was quick and strong. However, the child fighter gritted his teeth. He didn't understand... Vegeta had trained him harshly, he had taught him the best attacks, the best techniques, and yet, despite all of it, he didn't manage to efficiently reach his opponent. He realised that he lacked strength and speed in front of the arrogant machine. Incredible!

The frustration electrified his body with a new surge of adrenaline. He joined his hands on his side, muttering the precious syllables, and yelled the last one, shooting a tremendous energy blast.

“Ka... Me... Ha.. Me... HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”

Right into the bull's eye! Surprised, 17 hadn't dodged it. Or... He hadn't tried to dodge it.

Petrified by surprise, Son Gohan watched with disbelief the young man emerging from the mist made by the explosion. He was unharmed. Surrounded by a protective energetic bubble, he hadn't even moved back under the impact. Worse: he was gloating.

“What were you thinking? You've surprised us earlier, that's all.”

The cyborg removed his bubble of protection as he slowly went nearer, self-confident, towards the dumbstruck young man.

“But I should have expected it. There were no reason for you to do better than this wimp that Vegeta is.”

Gohan is taken aback. They considered Vegeta to be a wimp?!

And then he remembered. Even if he had been Super Saiyan, Vegeta had indeed been no match against them. That was actually why he had trained him in the Time Chamber. The young fighter had deduced of it that it was to allow them to join forces. But no! That wasn't it at all. The Saiyan had let him go defend his family all alone.

“They've killed enough people for today, they won't fight with all their strength... Feel free to go there, if it amuse you.”

Amuse him?!

He felt esteem and admiration... even affection for the Prince with who he just had spent one entire year. But he really didn't understand that!

17 turned to look at the poor Krilin, still sitting in that same position, with the look of utterly stupefied man.

“Unless you needed an extra motivation?”

Son Gohan starred at the cyborg with big naïve eyes... What did he mean?

The psychopath went on.

“A little stake to add spice to the game: if I touch the ground first, the small bald man is saved, if you bite the dust, you die. It's simple, isn't it?”

As Son Gohan was having a hard time realising the terrible offer that he had been provided, 18's look hardened. Her brother really was a fuckhead! She didn't understand that the fact she could be interested in someone else annoyed him so much.

When Gohan reacted, he yelled with all the strength granted by his childish naivety.

“KILLING PEOPLE ISN'T A GAME!”
